“Why do they hate us so much?”

The bombs went off in Brussels as they had previously in Paris and Madrid and Moscow and London, and dozens of other cities around the world, many of them outside the West (in India, the Philippines, Thailand, Burma, Mali, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Sudan). That omnidirectional hatred that prompted all those bombs and guns is drummed into Muslims from an early age, in the canonical texts that matter. Not every last Muslim may end up subscribing to that hate, but enough of them do so that it is not unreasonable to conclude that “they hate us” because that’s what they are taught to do.

Islam is on the march in Europe. The political and media elites whose duty it is to protect and instruct the peoples of Europe have failed those to whom they owed that responsibility. Instead, they have allowed what by now must surely be many millions of Muslims to settle deep within Europe, behind what Muslims themselves are taught to regard as enemy lines, the lines of Dar al-Harb, and the European elites just don’t know how to talk about the problem, where to begin. Can someone who has been part of the political class, in and out of power during the last few dismal decades, in any European country, dare now to admit that “they hate us, I finally realize, because we are Infidels — and I helped let them in”? Don’t be silly.

Yes and those that refuses to look at these facts because we subscribe to a poor reporting, my lordy. When will you wake up.

Such person will never wake up.

Look at how he blamed the failed moslems' integration on the West, because West have never done enough for those moslems to be integrated well amongst society. No wonder those moslems migrants are becoming spoiled brat, thinking that the whole world has to help them and to respect them for their sake of their mohamed and allah doh

Similar behaviour within the current refugees can be read here

They hate the West because there is freedom, democracy and prosperity. They like to go backward. They only think of destruction and want to destroy the civilization in Europe. If they don't kill or bomb, they impose their culture, "cultural terrorism". The intolerant Muslims in Switzerland wanted aggressively to remove the cross of the national flag, but the authorities denied their petition. Well, the Red Crescent instead of the Red Cross is used in the Arab countries to please them. It is now inevitable, Muslims are to make up a large and growing proportion of the population in Europe. Would it be Europeanization of Islam or the Islamization of Europe? Muslims in general don't have the will to assimilate or integrate.sad flower sad flower

Joy yes indeed, the question is do they really expect us that are fighting this battle to be silenced? Imagine how you summed it up precisely the way it is Joy.

Thanks for your additional input.

If this is true, then Merkel should see the faith of Csaucescu, no idea how to spell that - the former Romanian dictator.

According to the article, the young immigrant Merkel took her selfie with is one of the Brussels attackers.

That is the other thing Capri, why can't the rich Arabian countries give the help instead of just us?

That really hurts when your country has to give at the expense of some local needs.

Hugh Fitzgerald on Why do so many ask "why do they hate us?"?

So many times I passed by these locations. Why do they hate us so much?” asked Franziska Brantner, a German Green MP and former member of the European Parliament, on Twitter (about the attacks in Brussels).

Do you remember Michael Scheuer, that obsessively anti-Israel former “bin Laden desk” expert at the C.I.A., who used to declare that “they hate us because of our policies in supporting Israel and propping up the Al-Saud and invading Iraq”? Or others who said that “they hate us because of our intervention in Libya”? Or still others who said “they hate us because we supported (!) Assad” or “we supported the Houthis in Yemen” or “we supported Mubarak” or “we abandoned Mubarak”? Or those who said “they hate us because ….(fill in your favorite reason here – anything at all will do, as long as you don’t mention Islam).

In a longer list of answers to “why they hate us,” Scheuer provided a half-dozen reasons:

-U.S. support for apostate, corrupt, and tyrannical Muslim governments.
-U.S. and other Western troops on the Arabian Peninsula.
-U.S. support for Israel that keeps Palestinians in the Israelis’ thrall.
-U.S. pressure on Arab energy producers to keep oil prices low.
-U.S. occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan.
-U.S. support for Russia, India, and China against their Muslim militants.

This implausible laundry list becomes even more comical if the “U.S.” is replaced by “Belgium,” for any of Scheuer’s reasons – i.e., there never was a Belgian “occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan,” nor Belgian “troops on the Arabian peninsula,” nor any Belgian “pressure on Arab energy producers,” and so on. And if one were to try to explain Muslim terrorist attacks outside the West, say in India or the Philippines, the inadequacy of his “reasons” becomes still more apparent — try substituting the “Philippines” or “Nigeria” for the “U.S.” and then read that list out loud.

......

Do you go to any great effort in nuancing the difference between the wahabi peasant and an educated shia? No, they're both muslims. Why would Islam nuance the difference between America and Belgium? They're both the west.

You can't criticise the muslims for holding the west collectively responsible when you and I both hold Islam collectively responsible. I'm not knocking collective responsibility, if we nuanced every shade of grey we'd be paralysed into action and that's why we have racial profiling to keep us safe, but I'm not going to be a hypocrite over collective responsibility. Many people on here are "us" and "them" on the muslim issue(especially you women).

Anyway, the west has developed the modern world which has eradicated every traditional way of life from the Sioux to the Muslim and I totally accept that the white man's gain is Islam's loss. I agree that we subvert and destroy Islam with our superior civilisation just as we have trounced every other culture that once was. The weak must make way for the strong.

"At least 70 people have been killed and another 300 injured in a blast outside a public park in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore. ... The bomb detonated on Sunday evening in local time, when many Christian families were visiting the Gulshan-e-Iqbal park area to celebrate Easter."

I am amazed that such a tragedy didn't squeeze a single word from our fellow poster, a pure hypocrisy...

That is the term I want to emphasize on these bigot and hypocrite who accuse us of causing these troubles because of our exposure to their evil Krema. Oh they would rather that we embrace and take all the refugees without considering the safety of our families. tsk tsk..

Indeed darling Lindsy,
and on the top of all it happens on one of the most important dates for the Christian world, Easter...
I know that many will easily say they are not religious, but that is our weakness, because the Islamists are believers, even if they believe in their own fantasy they truly do believe and that unites them and makes them stronger...
I really felt personally hurt by this news, because I know that city well and I have lovely memories from my several visits there...

I was in tears when they showed the poor mothers of these children who survived the attack. Heinous my dear Krema just indescribable.

I am listening to the news and they release the documents that there were about over 7000 killings done worldwide last year related to faith and most of the victims were all Christians.
