Malfidus: Misses Jones,I wonder what the goal is of your tread? I do not believe an inhabitant of the US has any benefits or interest is starting up a tread as this, knowing there are much other items and problems that interests the American people today. I assume you do it just for your amusement or...?
BTW. I doubt you are the person you prescribe in your profile. It is just a cover up to mislead the other. What your real goal is I do not know but I also don't trust you.

Btw: Europe will have to deal with the Islam terrorists the one way the other. One thing is for sure, a strong Europe would be a real threat for the US, Russia,... in all the aspects. This is now avoided by the Islam terrorism...induced by ......??? For the moment: mission accomplished and status steady!
Do not feel offended and respect the freedom of speech!

what is your problem Mister, coming on this Site and insulting other posters!
Besides, your Notion that the US ought to be afraid of the EU is ridiculous and Absurd!
The EU is a Has-been and is on it's Last legs!
It is a Traitor to the Western Values!

Enjoy the memorial day Conrad. I just wrote a little dedication for them heroes and posted it at the poetry corner. bouquet I feel sorry for him though, what does it matter if he believes or not, that is his problem. After all it can be true that I am not who I think I am, however, I have met quite a few of us bloggers and posters on this site. And that to me is all that matters.cheers

Capricorn143: Seems like it is fine with her/him that Jews are theatened again.

Amazing article on how harsh but liberal Danish immigrant policy may seem like a very good thing in light of the rise of far-right parties in Germany, Sweden and elsewhere.

"In Denmark, by contrast, where immigration skeptics were never written out of the political conversation, alternative views have always been part of the political system. Though the Danish People’s Party is often mischaracterized as “far right,” it is not nearly as extreme as the Sweden Democrats. Anti-migration sentiments are thus channeled in a healthy way — the parliamentary process — and not onto the streets."

"Yes, Denmark may be “harsh” and “liberal,” but sometimes you have to emphasize the former to protect the latter."

To take this to "fishing out drowning migrants and taking them to Europe" (un)policy: something that seemed harsh at the beginning of the influx may seem too soft of an approach now. Politicians are elected and paid more than generously to take harsh decisions and take them in time, very soon it seems nothing else will be able to stop the influx but the use of weapons.

The regressive liberals should finally start using their heads and decide what they want: turning Europe into a thirld world country, or preserving democracy and the social system that has worked very well so far, free speech, gender equality.

Good morning D. I don't know if there is a push on UK thinking of getting out of the union?

Hi Lin wave

Seems like the pressure on the UK is picking up. After Obama sticking his dirty nose into Brexit, it is now Merkel-s turn: she is warning the Brits that they will be isolated!

I seriously think the EU (Merkel and her puppets) will not accept the leave camp's victory, they may screw the results so that the outcome is to their liking - just like they did in Austria.

I completely agree with you. The EU as it is now and as it is striving to become is to the detriment of everyone in Europe - down with it as soon as possible!

This is a good video used for Brexit purposes but it describes the EU as it is - undemocratic, dictatorial, bureaucratic, wasteful......in short: only to the benefit of the politicians!

Over a period of time a culture cycle through generational phases of doing, devouring and suffering. The last time the devourers(Edwardians)were at peak influence we saw the roaring 20s, the great depression, and the world wars, and this time at peak devourer(baby boomers)we've seen the roaring 90s, The Great Recession, and the era of stagnation(which is what would have happened had the second world not).

This is nothing new. The Victorian doers were the Edwardian's parents just as the Greatest generation were parents to the boomers. Doing creates the devourer, the devourer leads to suffering, and the sufferer becomes the doer. Take confidence from the fact that history shows we have faced the devourers many, many times before and not only did we survive we became more than we ever dreamed of.

And enterprise, trade unions, nations, and basically any organisation known to man follows this same pattern of being cursed by its success and gifted by its failure.

In today's world we're 10-15 years away from utilising all that we know in science and technology to utterly transform the face of society like the 1950s. At the moment the knowledge is there, but what we also have is a decadent and obsolete economic system which allows for(at best)the crude and partial implementation of science exemplified by Tinder, CS and video games.

These times are like the 1930s and 40s with nuclear weapons being the reason why there isn't a war in the first world: two divergent aims of nationalism and globalism, a crude economy years behind its technological potential, and the coming synthesis of ideas in a new and more advanced age.

Well the objective of having unified Europe is for economic strength but it does show the failure as such. Wondering if there's truly a unified economic system that benefits the whole of Europe. In it's collapse who's going to rise up and fall as well?

And more importantly how?

The original Common Market, that was the basis of the union within Europe, and it was working fine, until the decision to create a single currency took place, followed by a total change of direction for the common market which morphed into what is now called the EU and the disaster it has now become.

Yes it was planned for economic unity and boom on most of Europe. Truly a disaster as we now know.

A's far as her willingness then to welcome this migrants without knowing the consequences just show her lack of insight, a trait needed to be a good leader.

She was blinded by the main direction she had planned, to make Germany the richest and most powerful European country, with all the rest paying homage to her as the greatest leader.
