The Greeks, Germans and Portuguese have lived in most countries around the world, so yes I knew.
I had a British education, so learning Greek/latin was part of my education, and yes I also know that a large proportion of todays modern language of British English is derived from old ancient German, ancient Greek, Latin and French.

Apart from the basic tomatoes, cucumber olives feta onions, add lambs lettuce, celery , caper plants ( pickled) beetroot & lots of fresh flat leaved parsley... The list is endless.

evidence that, when the Parthenon was build,Britons new the art
of sculpture.
