There's no news about casting, but there should be pretty soon. The series will be shown all around the world. I think it'll be shown in the UK as well. There's a teaser you can see on the CBS page on Facebook.

Just saw the CBS teaser spot...yawn not a single scene other than their logo...with the usual blurbs of 'new frontiers, new villains; new heroes'...not very enticing at all.
I miss sci-fi shows. Hopefully this new series will not pander to 12 to 14 year olds like most shows which makes them insufferable to watch. The last good adult oriented series I remember was Babylon 5 with the follow-up series going back to a childish/ juvenile Disney mode and was canceled within a year...sigh

I've always been a Doctor Who nut. In our house, Star Trek was on Thursday afternoons on BBC2. If I saw it, I saw it. If not... no biggie.

However, I've been catching up on the series on Netflix. TOS and TNG were great. Voyager was OK and got better as it moved on. I'm now on DS9 and struggling with the first series, but will persevere. With just Enterprise to go, I'm glad to hear there's another series on the way.

Coincidently, I posted this Star Trek limerick today.

It's past Jan. and no show....and no good sic-fi shows on TV at all, nor movies and yet some polls show increased interest by people and have affirmed that Sci-Fi as a genre continues to inspire real time, real world attempts at applications from movies and stories ...something TV Executives do not reflect...
