robplum: I got a take on Windows, like in i run 64 bit Win 7 Professional. On your win7 computer if you allowed Win Update to install SP2 then you installed preparation for install of Win8, whether you wanted tat or not biggest thief in theee world did tat. Win 8 no goog install ten... Biggest thief in theee world had earlier deliberately in my opinion, update stuffed up CD DVD hardware on my computer twice.
So off to eBay purchased refurbished 64 bit Toshiba, + purchased a Windows 7 Professional 64 bit installation disc, now days if you look around online those disks now includes latest Drivers for your fine Toshiba laptop or whatever you run with, + purchased online extra hard drive as well. (just in case another sitting around with full installed programming installed on it as backup) There are still a few issues that need addressing before sorting that sort of installation, which think i have mentioned on here before felixis99!! Anyway be happy share my thoughts on tat process
I run 64 bit legal Win 7 Professional my legal Office 2000 Premium all goood
only thing that worries me with older versions of Windows is I am not sure what will happen when MS ceases to support them. I would love to see a flexible systematic OS from MS where we can choose from a number of OS and have a library to select from at start up with the ability to configure features from various versions Linux-style. Then MS can still keep selling new product without pissing everyone off....
I am happy with Windows 7 and have no intention of using touch screen or any other type of system at this juncture.
If i did, could all ways buy whatever.
Meanwhile I am able to do everything i want to do with what i have. The laptop runs Ok, the Office suit (2000 Premium) is most comprehensive Office Suit Microsoft ever released. That runs on win 7 in the mode Office 2000 was made to run in (2000), i have completely installed whole program and installed SP1 Sp2 SP3 so the suit is encased in Netframwork so doesn't get damaged and works perfectly...
Microsoft stopped supporting that years ago, GOOOD no reason why you can't install that, its unsupported so legal...anyway i had purchased the Office suit years ago, but you can buy on eBay copy of that and install legally i believe.
So yes one day you might change your mind, even blokes some times do to. But not today...

then think of this.???????...if someone makes an item that is so good....and does everthing requie,rd of it....people would not buy their next product...because they are happy......with what they have got......jobs are lost.and the firm has to close down.....happy/unhappy....

I'm happy with what i have
I am satisfied enough but not completely happy. MS OS progressively through 8.0, 8.1 and now 10 has tried to do the consumer's thinking for us. Not everyone wants that. In an effort to idiot proof the system so that anyone can use it with ease, those of us who like to configure preferences have lost some control. It could be a matter of me relearning the OS and getting used to 10. But I will never get used to the idea that I can't wipe my drive if I want to,& do my own reinstalls. That is thievery, certainly....so although I am OK for now....I an "thinking things over...."
thats a filthy lie.....you should,nt spread such rumors emmmmm. why are you wearing polka dot knickers.....?????????..is he, you know/i know who i mean....coming over later...

I don't lie and I don't wear polka dot knickers but if that's what you're seeing, you need to go to spec savers.
Actually anyone who uses the internet without a proxy server is being cookied to death. We are being ferociously spied upon but I honestly think it's mostly for marketing those annoying banner ads
felixis99: Geez, first Google the Villain, and now this!

Sometimes I wonder if we're being recorded when we're talking in our homes because I find it really odd that ads will show up on my computer relating to something said without having done a search for it on the internet.

Ccleaner is a good program to use and I use it too. It's amazing how much crap gets stored on our computers and it's difficult to keep on top of it.
