pat8lanips: Yeah the other side of the coin, I bought a whole frozen turkey for five bucks last year. I see they've dropped from 55 to 50, I'll wait a month or two before investing. Meh, I don't really eat chocolate eggs, they'll be heaps cheaper April and may.
And prolly after April/May Christmas decorations will be on sale again

best way is not to support them by buying their buns , complain if you notice that they have gone past their useby date . And when they rush off to get you fresh ones on return tell em to stick em some place the sun don't shine . Maybe they might get the hint .
P.S. don't pull that stunt on the old lady who you've said gives you the evil eye , she'll crack some of your eggs after nicely showing you they are allright .
Plan B , say you are muslim and the buns offend you , start screaming alllhoo arkbarrr , buns be gone in no time .
mollybaby: I like my Easter eggs at easter. I like Christmas decorations at Christmas. I don't like hot cross buns ever.
Sue me
yeh, i don't lik'em either
Several moons ago our company (had massive freezers back then) used to store truckloads of fresh FROZEN hot cross buns for a major supermarket chain here.
2intrigued: For the most part it has but there's still a few of us around that hold onto the traditional meaning.
I fully understand that there are a few who hold onto the traditional meaning.
I noticed where I live that some people who work in stores admitted to me that they are afraid to say Merry Christmas etc.It was also explained to me that some religious people become all offended.

It's sad to think that it's come to that where saying Merry Christmas is such a terrible thing and one thing is certain, I won't stop saying it whether folks like it or not. Guess I better not work in retail.

I guess it comes down to accepting that we all live in a multi-cultural society Cc, which to me means we respect others' beliefs and traditions whilst expecting the same from them
I work in tourism which finds me meeting people from all over the world ..
I love to look beyond my own world and explore other cultures and languages, I've travelled extensively and my work gives me the opportunity to enlarge on my knowledge which I love

I mean I have the highest respect for others religious beliefs or non-beliefs cause I went to a middle school with a girl who's family didn't believe in the Holidays so during classroom parties she would stay home and the teacher wouldn't count her absent.
Yes I fully understand that we obviously live in a multi culture society but it'll be a cold day in the desert before I'll before I stop saying Merry Christmas if someone chooses to wish me one.
