Any early Science Fiction scare you now or when you were younger?


Besides Godzilla and turtles the Giant Claw from the sky is particularly frightening for me.....

The Blob, The Little Shop of Horrors and The Birds were a few that frightened me back in the day but when I watch them now, I laugh at how hokey they are. laugh wave

I can't say that early horror movies ever actually scared me because I knew deep down they were just a movie but there were times when I held my breath like when Frankenstein came upon that little girl by the lake.

It wove science fact with science fiction. This formula makes the best stories. IMO Edmond Gwenn the old codger professor, was clearly the star of this movie not James Arness though James Whitmore took a close second.
The story explored a real concern back in the 50's that radiation from atomic bomb testing might one day cause genetic mutations in animal and insect life which could have disastrous consequences.
