Being a Midwest farm girl, I had some new experiences when I first moved to a city along a river. I kept on hearing women scream. My initial response was, "Why doesn't someone help that lady?" ... It took me months to tune the screaming birds out...
It also took me a while to not feel like an earthquake was happening each time a trolley rumbled down the cobblestone street.
Ahhh... the quiet bliss of country living...
