Chinese vice foreign minister Le Yucheng spoke to ambassador Branstad and urged the "US side to correct mistakes and change course."

Chinese foreign ministry in a statement said Yucheng told that US ambassador to "refrain from putting the bill into practice, and immediately stop interfering in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal affairs, so as to avoid further damage to China-US relations and bilateral cooperation in important areas."

Two ambassadors were called (posted it earlier).
It's comical in a way. It is as if they don't understand or refuse to except, how the system works here. Xi, had spokespeople telling POTUS to stop it, AFTER BOTH were passed almost unanimously by Dems & Repubs in Congress and the Senate.

dunno I guess that's a Communist mindset, that saying "Stop that", is enough.
laugh That doesn't work here.

(2:05) US President Donald Trump signs HongKong human rights bills into law"
#HongKongHumanRightsAndDemocracyAct into law on November 28, 2019. The law aims to protect Hong Kong’s civil rights and allows diplomatic action and economic sanctions against those Washington views as suppressing freedoms in the city. Trump’s endorsement came nine days after the US Senate passed the bill on November 19. Trump has also approved the #ProtectHongKongAct, which bans US exports of crowd-control gear such as tear gas and rubber bullets to Hong Kong

America can pass whatever laws its like, but other nations have no obligation to accept them.

I know some member on here can be little one-eyed, however America along with Britain had flooded China with opium and two wars were fought over that issue. Britain and America's attempt to control and fleece the whole of China be getting them hooked on drugs.
Subsequent to the second biff-up (called I think the Boxer Rebellion ) the biff-up lead to an agreement that created a lease of Hong Kong and the Territories, so China could make trade with the white devils; that lease agreement expired and i understand an agreement offering a two government transition period was signed at midnight on June 30/July 1, 1997, at that time the crown colony of Hong Kong officially reverted to Chinese sovereignty, ending 156 years of British rule.
After a formal handover ceremony on July 1, the colony became the Hong Kong special administrative region (HKSAR) of the People’s Republic of China.

The ceremony culminated a 13-year transition that had been initiated by the Sino-British Joint Declaration on the Question of Hong Kong, signed by the heads of the two governments in December 1984. The agreement stipulated that under Chinese rule the HKSAR would enjoy a high degree of autonomy, except in matters of foreign relations and defense, and that the social and economic systems as well as the lifestyle in Hong Kong would remain unchanged for 50 years after 1997.

The People’s Republic of China in excising Chinese sovereignty has now decided in the first instance giving rise to the demonstrations it would extend its excuse for a legal system and was being imposed over the people in Hong Kong.

If China made laws that Americans should stop using toilet paper, instead they should wash there bums like Asians with their left hand. Do you really think the lunatic's in the White House would comply with the Chinese law?
America needs to clean up its own act, as no other nation on the planet is subject to the excuse for a judicial system America has either. Your legal system is utterly flawed, it favors the rich over the poorer members of you community, and the judges are just arselickers who suck up to your stupid two party excuse for a democratic system, then exchange you thoughts with the way China or any other nations see's Trumps stupidity.

As usual, you don't respond with the requested links, but try to belittle the actual poster,
So once and for all, I'm British, I'm a paid-up member of the BRITISH Conservative Party, and if I was paid to post I would be as prolific as you, but as I'm not paid, I just post sporadically.
And again, post links showing your proof that live ammunition was used by Chinese soldiers in Hong Kong

HongKong Police May Start Using Painful Wooden Bullets On Protesters

Hong Kong police have threatened to use wooden bullets to disperse protesters, according to comments made by Police Commissioner Chris Tang at a Thursday tea gathering.
The Hong Kong Free Press reports that the 'wooden baton rounds' cause more damage to the human body vs. rubber bullets. According to watchdog group Civil Rights Watch, Hong Kong police have also been using tear gas, bean bag rounds and other nonlethal weapons, which have resulted in multiple injuries.
Police Senior Superintendent of the Operations Branch Wong Wai-shun said at a press conference on Friday that the force had adopted rubber bullets and replaced wood baton rounds 16 years ago, owing of their effectiveness.
But Wong denied that wooden bullets would cause more damage, and said the police will use different weapons wherever it was appropriate, and will use the minimum force necessary.
“The police will constantly review the effectiveness of our ammunition,” he said. -
The Civil Rights watchdog has accused police of abusing the use of crowd control weapons - in one instance blinding a reporter who was shot in the face.
"The police commissioner seeking to do more damage with non-live ammunition and non-lethal weapons is a violation to the spirit of the United Nations’s ‘Basic Principles on the Use of Force and Firearms by Law Enforcement Officials’ to avoid deaths and injuries caused by force," said the group.
Protesters have called for an investigation into police abuses as part of their multi-pronged demands. The movement began some five months ago in response to an extradition bill which would allow suspects in Hong Kong to be removed from the country to stand trial in communist courts.
Over 5,800 people have been arrested during the protests, according to HKFP. Meanwhile, the police are recalling over 1,000 retired officers to staff the riots.

Massive Hong Kong Protest Against China

Massive numbers of HongKong residents marched today to protest a new extradition law being pushed by mainland China.
The new law would allow residents of Hong Kong (which is technically part of China) to be extradited to mainland China to face prosecution there for certain crimes. China's justice system offers much less protection to defendants than Hong Kong's system, and is widely seen as opaque and biased toward the state.
According to protest organizers, over one million protesters marched today, which would make the demonstration the biggest in Hong Kong since the UK handed it over to China in 1997.
Some protesters are still demonstrating hours after the march began, and there are clashes reported with police

(5:23) Hong Hong "Stay or go"

Hongkongers consider emigration options amid protests, the police reactions, China chipping away their freedoms bit by bit, the lack of affordable housing (one of the five demands of the protesters, is "public housing").
Many are afraid for their safety and the future.

Normally Taiwan sees 20-30 families a month applying for imigration, but now they are seeing 20 & 30 year olds applying
