It’s a dirty job but there’s a foreigner to do it replaced by doing what needs to be done for ourselves.
This is going to take more than gentle persuasion. We have a choice now we can either continue to pretend that we are richer than we are - with all the liberty and choice that comes with it - by eating our young, or we can try not doing that in a period of needs must. Sooner or later needs must will return.

Let’s not forget the Buddha was a prince who inherited a fortune. The overwhelming amount of unearned income that went into Buddha or the new age is not sustainable. What can you want when you have it all? To sit in the woods and be narcissistic.
But what I’m saying is that it isn’t permanent. Even the largest inheritance has a limit.
If hipsters want to feel Earthy they should get a Saturday job on a building site. Just as an example.
But that’s the point basically the next 50 years will be much more earthy than the last. Fantasising a reason to respect will diminish in the period of the worthy ones who challenge the idea that the best way to respect mankind is to ignore what it does. To end the age of bankruptcy we see a manlier time of credit where it’s due.

The way I see it is you need universal basic income but I don’t think you’ll get one for at least 50 years.
Reality-independent economics are a bit of a relic today, but that does not mean you’ll never see another generation of mysticism and hobbies. The extent to which life is a sport rises and falls, but the sport is always built on the dirt. The game changes.
Apart from Canada and Australia. For reasons of more money than sense the 1990s doesn’t have to end immediately in either. If laid back is what you’re selling it’s them who can afford it.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if Buddha comes back to the Far East after he declined in their advance from dirt to modernity that modernity becomes postmodern with a whole range of beliefs old and new, foreign and familiar. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if their version of western Buddhism is some sort of eastern feudalism; the same strange fascination with relics from a foreigners past adopted and brought home for novelty purposes.
If any place is too kind to it’s kids those kids will stab it in the back claiming to be citizens of the world.
But the oceans are still full of plastic. Now the challenge is to convert novelty into care and part of achieving this is to consider your own. You are not a citizen of the world, you are a part of this world. There’s a difference. And that difference is home there must be more to “home” than what exists in your head, the sole consideration for the future must not be relieving stress today. Same goes for curiosity. If you hoard all the novelty in the world you’re leaving posterity with a gritty, banal life because you’ve lost capacity for basic function. It’s happened throughout history.
And the bosses see in Buddhism the chance to make their underlings more obedient. The chance of rebellion or a strike goes down.
But the right should resist it all the same. The west is becoming more like the east everyday - a hive - the better life for your kids is what you use to charm us into line. Incentives matter, the better world and the better life for your kids because we’re not Chinese. There will come a point where people can’t live like that, a time when the indifferent to reality trance we employ - in lieu of any real progress - fails.

I choose to be kind, to everyone, always. Kind is whom I am. Kind is whom I am.
In everything tomorrow, I allow people to be their way. I understand they have reasons.
I don't seek kindness, I am kind.
I am kind in what I say to myself.
I am kind in what I think about myself
I am kind about what I think about them.
I am kind to myself.
I watch read and listen, only to that which is healthy to me.
I am kind to myself.
I am calm, I am kind, I am happy....always."
