Rogerandout: That's A bit backward In it. Stick to the recipe in the kitchen. Spice it up a bit in the bedroom is the way to go
You must have misread me!
I didn't qualify, nor will I, what it is that I do like in the bedroom...
You just assumed that a man who honours a woman in the bedroom must be boring and so must she!scold

'I'm done trying to be man enough'

good post. Interesting that he has his dad as his "teacher". I can associate with that.

be a man means be sincere and authentic and honor my word, to show compassion and empathy, be open minded and respect and tolerate others . Also to follow my own path, and to know my strengths and weaknesses and not be afraid to show them.

That´s what my father taught me. Sorry dad, i don't tolerate imbeciles, dogmatic xenophobic people. (of course we can change, 2nd opportunities for all)

what section can I find a "real woman!"? laugh

I watched in its entirety. It belabored the obvious for me.

I suggest watching talks like this with your eyes shut, especially if you have a distaste for modern TV or movie stars. That way you can listen to the message rather than being distracted by the delivery. On second go-through it was considerably improved for me.

Thanks for the link. I've passed it on to a few friends who occasionally drag their knuckles. I will be surprised if they react positively but maybe. They watch the kind of shows he's in.

'I'm done trying to be man enough'

Wow! GREAT THREAD!

I did listen to the whole video and it was very refreshing. I admire him on so many levels. I loved his story, his message, his ability to speak out and his honesty. Clearly, he is an intelligent man who is comfortable in his own skin. He is the epitome of a real man and those are the qualities that he spoke of, to me, are all the qualities that are most attractive to me.

The fact he's a movie star will possibly carry more weight for some people than if he was an unknown man..

Yes! So much so Frisky!
My niece passed the video onto me!

Wouldn't the world be a beautiful place if all man displayed those qualities and all women were able to value them smitten

Absolutely it would be! But times/generations have changed, unfortunately, but that doesn't mean there are no longer still good men/women out there, but it is slim picken's these days. People should not lose faith in finding love though. Some people have become jaded but I say, don't give up.

I liked what he mentioned about the "me too" movement. His message was quite powerful and moving.

I have noticed that I have yet to see, if at all, the most popular misogynist poster here has no comment.laugh

That's an unfortunate part of today's world, that some TV or movie personality is the object of trust if not affection. What happened to the concept of honoring opinions from intelligent people?

I'll go pick up my book by Mark Twain now...

I think more and more people men women become more aware. Because they have more time on their hands, they have more time for noticing that they are unhappy, and also more time for looking at why. Looking for answers and finding ways to do things differently! conversing

It's amazing how he was rejecting his father's loving teachings in order to fit in with his peers. Good job he was able to appreciate his father's values some of which he now shares on the video!
Yes the me too movement! Super important!

As for our mostly not charming commentator, who knows ....

As we grow older we become wiser. I remember thinking as an adolescent, that my parents were too strict, or that they didn't know what they were talking about, etc. and I swore to myself that I would never be like them when I became a mom, lol. Now I understand them and the morales and values they instilled in me and I appreciate them for it because ultimately, I became what I swore I wouldn't be, just like them, lol. I have passed on to my daughter the very same lessons and I'm proud to say she listened, when I didn't think she was, and she has become an awesome young woman, a good catch.

As an awesome young woman may be your daughter doesn't need to be 'caught' but rather appreciated and valued heart beating bouquet

I had to learn my morals and values as I went along. I was a free range kid, thrown out into the world to figure out things on my own.

Kinda like "sink or swim" situation. I've been in situations like that in other aspects of my life, i.e., employment, etc. I had to learn the hard way but I wouldn't change those lessons for a million dollars. The things I learned on my own made me stronger and smarter!

By the way, you taught yourself how to be a genuine, good hearted man and I admire you for that. I cherish your friendship.teddybear

If you knew me at 5, 15, 25, 35, you would see a steady progression. At 15, I wasn't quite like I am now laugh
