The White Island Volcano in NewZealand has erupted and injuries are reported.
According to the New Zealand Herald up to 20 people may have been on or near the island at the time of the eruption.
Stuff New Zealand reports that people were seen near the volcano crater just before the eruption.

There used to be a sulfer mine there either late 1800's or early 1900's , miners were killed so no residents living on the island . I've always wondered... reports indicate that the 'super rich elites' have redoubts on New Zealand in case of a SHTF scenario.
I think 'New Zealand? That's one of the most geographical unstable areas of the world'.
Besides China pretty much owns Australia's natural resources industry. If SHTF should occur China will invade Aussie Land to secure their 'legal rights' and New Zealand would be a stepping stone for the Chinese to do that.
While a beautiful country (its where the Hobbit was filmed) its not at all a secure location due to its geographical unstability.

Felt widely , there were two quakes , both generated wave warnings . No damage reported so far , I would think there will be but minor . Damn sharp shake about 2/3rds through and I'm a long way from where they were .
