Health officials in New Zealand have made an embarrassing U-turn in the case of two women recently arrived from Britain who were infected with Covid-19 and allowed to leave quarantine without being tested – admitting the pair met up with friends when they should not have done.

The initial blunder by officials who failed to test the women for the virus before they were released early from quarantine on compassionate grounds was labelled an “unacceptable failure” by the prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, on Wednesday.

She added that New Zealand’s defence force would now oversee the quarantine of new arrivals and audit the quarantine process.

“It should never have happened and it cannot be repeated,” Ardern said.

That news is 2 days old Tom, if they stick to their rules test and quarantine everyone before moving around the country there should be no problem's.

The funny thing though ... Ardern has stated that the two individuals concerned were not at fault ( even though it seems certain now that the meeting previously alleged to be on account of their being lost was actually pre-arranged. Remember these women are Kiwis and pretty much everyone knows the way from airport to SH1 which is the route south to Wellington)

And, her officials are not to blame either for allowing two people with CV19 symptoms loose without testing ...

So, as no one is to blame (in other words responsible for the fracas) how is she going to prevent a re-occurrence?

Or, perhaps letting loose a couple of 'highly suspect individuals was part of a plan to re-impose lockdown sanctions on the public?'

Of course the whole thing has been heavily stage managed to make Ardern look good in the run up to an election ... and, though it's highly unethical, her campaign leaflets are using common phrases as appear on the self congratulatory claptrap propaganda ...

Those two women who were let loose without testing and then breached the terms of their compassionate release were in contact (direct or via) 321 other.

Even the Funeral Director was more on the ball than Ardern's Little Helpers and refused to allow them attend the funeral.

What a FU ... we've not been allowed to attend funerals in groups over ten and then 2 people from a country where CV19 is rampant are allowed to wander loose untested and symptomatic ?

Quarantine is based upon ENTRY ... not upon how long the journey took ;-)
