I guess the overcoming lies in how we see ourselves. It goes far deeper than political parties of today but how we look back at the enlightenment and feel that our glory is behind. That we've already had our peak and western civilisation is on the downslope to retirement. TINA and the end of history are an expression of this geriatric, the senile utopian notion of a final revolution in which all problems are resolved like they will be in death.
michaelright: indeed , problem is we don't have enough of great men like Nigel,,,
Unlike the majority of MPs in parliament...Farage has been against the EU project and has never changed his stance against the EU...majority of people know what he stands for and we need representation...cause we have now got zero...under a fascist parliament and government
He has to be voted in to Parliament before he can make sweeping changes thankfully, and after 8 attempts and lost every time you'd think he would have got the message.
Hardly a person in support of farage and brexit...but indeed a remainer pretending to be a leaver
I have never been a supporter of Farage or ever will be. Leaving the EU was a choice I made for many reasons but mainly to enable us to take back control of our policies.
What I am concerned about is walking away without any basic plans in situ as if no tariffs are in place regards import and export we could end up paying a high price. A classic example is meds of which many are imported. Fortunately I don't have to pay for prescriptions but many millions still do. At the moment there is a shortage of a certain chemical required in Haematology depts. used in blood tests which are now difficult to get unless in an emergency . This is due to a supply shortage from Roche a German based company and probably due to the viral issue that is ongoing.
Please refrain from dissecting me and endeavouring to transplant your own ideals into my thoughts. You know nothing about me yet "label" at your will.

Then once again you are on the wrong thread my dear the shortage of your meds is not the issue

Personally speaking we should never have joined in the first place ,but we did and the E.U was small and compact. Where ,in my opinion, it has failed is it's growth . What was originally started as a possible peace solution has got completely out of hand and become a "dictatorship" though I am loathe to use such a strong word.
I sincerely hope that some form of agreement can be reached for the benefit of all but our fishing rights will be a thorn in the side as will of course the borders in Ireland. Same again as in Spain and Gibraltar.
Farage may have instigated Brexit agreed but as a spokesperson I am not enamoured with him. Just my humble opinion Lee.
tomcatty: He put's his money where is mouth is and is popular with the right-wing in England, I understand why you re frightened of him with your cowardly background, Aragon,
Come on Nig dig us out of this phoney backstop, let Eire make its own way instead of hanging onto our coattails
Ah I see you haven't changed much Catty with your tactics of insult the poster because of your inability to present a cogent argument. How many times have you been banned from here for being cowardly
Cowardly
Not frightened of Farage, far from it I think he's an opportunistic imbecile. And its not his money considering he took so much from Aaron Banks illegally. He's playing people for fools, while feathering his own nest, while his family all have German passports, just in case
I guess if you want him to lead such an issue and listen to him on medical advise that's your choice.
However, his response to Doctors who argued smoking was bad for us was
After the referendum, I seem to remember the news reports of utter shock that the yes vote won.
A significant number of people, believing it would never happen voted yes as a means of voicing concerns about some aspects of of being a part of the EU.
Such is the flaw in asking a closed ended question and expecting it to represent views and opinions.
I think Ireland instituted a more productive means of creating change: 'experts' and a cross section of the population had a conference before their recent referendums to bridge the gap between a closed ended question and what was actually going to happen depending upon the outcome of that vote.
Mainscream media are a total disgrace and mentioned nothing about...nigel farage and the reform party....Mainscream media are totally in bed with Government and only spread propaganda for the scamdemic
