One2note: Dead simple !!!
You answer a question with a counter question..

Making or posting a comment on a certain blog, however intelligent it may be , doesn’t constitute a conversation.
I hope you’re learn something today folks
I’m not an expert on all this, but I recall several successful and well- loved people telling me that developing a genuine knack for making the other person feel validated (without being patronizing) is a giant leap in the right direction in the “ Art” of good and fluid conversation. professor

Look- I’ve TOLD you about Weetabix...just barely break in a bowl, add guard if you like, add cream, and munch it down NOW— otherwise it gets soggy fast and looks and tastes like baby food, unless you do what I just said. Now, do what I just said. Now. Right now.....lips

ChesneyChrist: Conversation feels more wrong the longer it goes on. There are too many, this is the public square, each person is in some way talking to all people at all times. Why not highlight the impersonal nature of the internet rather than befriend it?
To have a good or meaningful conversation, you have to be willing to open up a little, just a tad so that the other person can figure out if they want to continue conversing with you. If you are closed up and uncomfortable, there won't be any conversation.

Are you closed up and uncomfortable, Chesney??

One2note: Nothing much !!
Looking forward to being released from lockdown tomorrow.

What’s up in your neck of the woods ?
Sweet frig all....
Apparently we're not opening the borders to the 'Muricans for a long while yet.
Trudeau wants to keep Covid money coming at least until June 2021. We will implode as a country in January 2022, when we find out how much personal income tax will rise.
By then Biden will have shown what he's made of and I'll decide what country I'll settle in then.
Gotta think ahead, right??

sigh

Have to say your right.
As much as there are your multiply thread people.
The people who spout constant about politics
Those who are on a religious mission.
Those who are this that and the other, that so..just are sick of.

Then once in a while the "social super kings and queens" come along wanting to share their new found wisdom of how to clean this joint up a bit and how you should do more of this and less of that ,and poof, all harmony is restored...
Not realising they are just simply another cog in a never ending wheel of same ole same ole on here with no change.
Once in a while a newbie comes along and everyone jumps in to give their one little or "whitty quip" to impress their fellow members...and then its back again to saving CS from impending doom all because of American political or woman/man bashers or religious freaks...and so it continues...making us realise that we clearly need some mental help session to figure why we bother here at all.

Oh fawk, I love Weetabix! Can I come live with you??? We can shop at Tesco everyday and get enough points for bunches of Weetabix!! yay
We'll lock the door and keep Rohaan out. He doesn't like his Weetabix like I do. They gotta be hot, mushy and semi-sweet. And most importantly, made with evaporated milk and boiling water from the kettle. No namby pamby microwaves....
I'll even break out the flannel nighties....... wink

Everything gets boring after a while. Forums had their peek before Facebook and since then they keep losing their members. Most forums I was a member of either closed down, got archived or have no new posts since (at least) 2016. Some are still modestly alive because old members keep them alive - people who joined 10, 15, even 20 years ago and log in regularly because it's a habit.

There are so many social media to choose from nowadays on much more modern platforms. Younger people cannot be attracted to such an old platform and older people have already been, seen and done all this multiple times. I tried using CS on my phone and couldn't do almost anything. I couldn't post a link, open all emoticons... Messaging system here is so outdated! There's too little control over your profile and - especially your posts. New social media allow you to delete your posts - these old forums don't... This is simply not for ... modern people. laugh

I think that people should give up making "quests for saving CS" and putting additional pressure on the remaining members. We should simply - enjoy it the way it is. You log in - find something fun, write a post or two, log out and - that's it. If it's too boring - you don't come for days or weeks. If it starts to annoy you - you cancel your profile. If you change your mind, you can always come back again after some time, make a new profile... dunno Who cares? After all, this is just virtual entertainment...
