It’s tough out there. I suppose a better, less “violating” way would to open a clear line of communication with the person you’re dating, meet some of their friends, family, what organizations they belong to, what they do for a living [this is excellent: many professions require police/background checks to be spic n span; having this kind of job would maybe not be a guarantee, but it would wipe away a few cobwebs..]. Personally, I believe whole-heartedly in red flags. Pay close attention—-

I think it's quite in order to run background checks on anyone who will be working in my house, as I have some valuable items around plus confidential personal information.Just imagine how it would be if you guys got together.

So you do a security check on the hired help but take for granted that the girl friend is not going to rip you off when you invite her round.It is better if someone I know, or a relative can vouch for them.
