Friskyone: When going out on their first date, is running a background check before the date?

Is that being nosey/spying or does it make you feel safer for yourself.

Do you admit to doing it or keep that to yourself?
I have always considered it this way: if that other person ran a background check on YOU, (and you are aware, of course..) would you like it? The answer to this is your answer.

PeKaatje: I expect meeting a nice girl that has been nosing around about me don't trust me. When she don't trust me now, who will say she will trust me in the future. She's just jealous without any reason, have had such a relationship in the past, never again.
Your comment speaks volumesthumbs up

Friskyone: I've personally not done that. The person may feel violated. But these days, you never know.
It’s tough out there. I suppose a better, less “violating” way would to open a clear line of communication with the person you’re dating, meet some of their friends, family, what organizations they belong to, what they do for a living [this is excellent: many professions require police/background checks to be spic n span; having this kind of job would maybe not be a guarantee, but it would wipe away a few cobwebs..]. Personally, I believe whole-heartedly in red flags. Pay close attention—-handshake

I think it's quite in order to run background checks on anyone who will be working in my house, as I have some valuable items around plus confidential personal information.

It is better if someone I know, or a relative can vouch for them.

But as far as lovers go, I think I would have to trust them, or I wouldn't be going out with them.

So you do a security check on the hired help but take for granted that the girl friend is not going to rip you off when you invite her round.

We all have valuables and confidential info in our homes , but it's not on display surely.dunno

If RED FLAGS are. there before a date, then don't meet.

Always talk to the bloke for a while and your common sense will tell you something about him.
