truheart1941: Harebottle. all jokes aside what are your hobbies......???
When I retired a few months ago I bought a bike, and I try to get out on it most days. I also bought a camera to make the bike rides more interesting. I look for things to photograph as merrily pedal along.
I dabble with music a bit as well. I like to make my own up.
None are particularly engrossing hobbies, but they pass some time.

I put quite a lot of time and effort into learning German quite a few years back, and was well on my way to becoming reasonably proficient in it. I only remember a fraction of it now.

Mercedes_00: So am I right in saying you like the company of people on the net but not in the flesh?
We are social animals, Merc, we need to interact with one another to some extent. The great advantage of doing it online is that you can shut down and walk away when you've had enough. It's not so easy to just get up and leave in the middle of a face to face conversation.
I can happily spend time with people in the flesh, as long as they are my kind of people, but there are not many of those about. I avoid spending time with people in general.
Harbottle: I have asked myself so many times, "why do I feel so alone?"

Me too. It's awful when the weather is dark and wet, day after day as it often is in the west of Ireland. My GP made a mistake with my prescription and I haven't had my meds for the last few days, just rang my pharmacy and thank god they finally have them in so I can get back to normal now.
I learnt a good bit of Spanish years ago but I've lost most of it since, if you don't use it you lose it.

First, I totally get where you’re coming from. But hey, you’re handsome, eclectic-don’t hide your candle ‘neath a bush…please don’t take this as an imposition. I researched your area a little. Have you tried The Hopper, or Marmadukes? How about The Treehouse Board Game Cafe? That place sounds fun and interesting. Any contra- dance groups near you? Senior centers? Sometimes we just have to make our optimism come true… Great luck, Bud…
