If I were you I would reg as a one-man firm selling your services yourself to either one large client or several smaller ones. That way you can control your own working hours and basically still deliver the same 'product'. draw in a few other self employed individuals (if you want colleagues for that 1h lunch..) so you become a small little network.
Mercedes_00: Don't you dare think I'm not interested in what you have to say I hadn't realised you quoted me so I'm sorry
CS has a stench about it as far as labeling goes
I love to clean & many look at it as OCD but it's just something I love to do
I think it stems back to when I was younger..
Cleaning whilst listening to music occupied my mind from all the chaos surrounding me as a kid at that time in my life..
I understand all about managing people in employment .. I didn't cop what you copped
The thing is Ro sometimes we have to be cruel to be kind & as long as you went home knowing you did the right thing & you were able to sleep well at night..You well & truly know you did well with every decision you ever made..Those calls wanting you back is proof you got it right every time
Can't please everyone
Thank you dearie, you are always so nice to me. I appreciate the time you take to read and validate and/ or give other points of view. You have tact. (I know I went off a bit…gee, you’d think after all this time I’d be rested up… )
Pluviophile: This is a very thoughtful thread in my notice. The point of disadvantage for me is work rush. Everything now is a rush towards earning, towards success, and for extra hours. No matter how much you love your job but the companies are taking away the family time, self quality time, refreshing hours and break. In majority of cases we lack job satisfactory. I love what I specialize in but why do I have to spend long hours everyday for 6 days to make the company better? Also the lunch hour barely exists. Modern life is now equal to corporate life. Just the other day I was going through a site
mentioned that work pressure of modern lifestyle leads to mental illness and emotional hindrance. See!! Everything is a chain reaction. You are right about the ads and marketing. They are not providing a cure for our necessity. Instead their ad is all about deeming to create a necessity (which is pointless) and themselves giving a solution to it. And public also is always driven away. It's completely product-oriented and not customer-centric. The modern work places are the manufacturer of stress, discomfort and struggle that takes away mental peace.
I guess we have to be there for the ones who do recognize and support us. I find The Prayer of Saint Francis a helpful tool to review from time to time.
Youcannow: If I know anything about women ( and I like to think I do ) is that their favourite conversation topic is about themselves. Just try to sound interested & if you throw in the odd yawn , tell them you had a sleepless night the day before . You’re welcome
You know a particular type of women. The ones who are attracted to the particular type of man you are. And so all the other ones, who are attracted to the many many other different types of men, you know nothing about other than on a superficial level. Your advice won't work for everyone You're welcome
NAKEDMUDPEOPLE: If you cannot read or write cursive you can not read the Constitution of the United States or The Bill of Rights. The dumbing down of humans.
They still teach cursive writing in many countries .... They can go read the Americans their constitution and Bill of Rights. At a price!!!
Happygolucky4u: I miss good manners. Manners are very important to a good functioning society. In so many ways and they have slowly seeped away leaving us with the society we now have
I jumped off the hamster wheel 14 years ago and moved to a small village in the mountains somewhere near Malaga.
Since then I dip a toe in the trappings of modern life only when it suits me and live a peaceful simple life choosing what I want my days to be filled with. A bit of work here, a bit of work there, just enough to pay bills and buy food.
I like the modern technology that allows me to feel close to my family and work from home or fly to be with loved ones. But I don't have a home full of electric gadgets or a TV . People can choose ...

I have in mind to set up a life not very different to yours.
Grandsiozzie: I have in mind to set up a life not very different to yours.
Go for it!!!
I was 48 when I jumped off the wheel... not a single regret ... I sold the house, sold a few or gave away most of my belongings, cancelled all the insurances and financial commitments, gave my notice at the secondary school where I'd been a teacher for 16 years and started over. The fact I'm Spanish did help settle down fast as I didn't have to learn a new language like I did when I moved to England. Plus I had a lump sum from the sale of the house ...
Our ever-expanding shroud of ignorance. There's a lot more we are aware of without understanding any of it. An earth with a Venus-like atmosphere is not just global warming. I think it might die of anxiety and smoke without fire.

Look at it like this: Technology best utilized is a comfortable, old shoe, or a really neat quilt. You use them when you want to, but can easily set them aside for a bit.
It is extreme irony to be allowing technology to dictate. It should be a tool, not a mandate. I realize many might see it differently, but I am not swayed about being correct about this universal scam of technology. (I’m not saying all the media is wrong……and technology is great, but be aware.)
