Exactly Pete, they don't want us to have a point of view.

Hi True.
We still have freedom of speech ,it's just that so many people spout either rubbish or obscenities, especially on here ,usually hoping that it will offend.
Some real sad people about these days that need to get a life in the real world.

Hihi Tom. My point of view is. They the government. Work for us. We pay their wages. .if they cannot do the job. We should throw them out..????being we are their employers....
Looking back in history we never really had any freedom to start with... Whatever gentle revolution ever happened was just a tiny release of the leash length... The social media gave us the imaginary feeling of importance and we embraced it foolishly... And suddenly we were reminded we are still on the leash...

Youcannow: I was just giving an example as to why modern day appliances & technology has made people become more lazy . As for my business.. I just didn’t feel it was morally right for a delivery co. to bump up the price by 30% during the lockdown. People were going through a tough time & the majority of people were happy to get out of the house to pick up a meal , or just grab a coffee .
Depending where one lived here we weren't allowed past our letter box
Some businesses may have taken advantage of the situation in that case we were & are fortunate to report to an authority when it comes to price gouging
I have managed cafe's..I have managed hot carveries
When placing orders for produce by phone we're told such & such an item has gone up in price so when it comes to keeping consumers the boss will keep things as is for a little while.but when the boss is paying $14,000 a months in rent to Lend Lease he has no choice but to hike his prices
A business has to pay delivery drivers..Pay for petrol on top every thing else
I'm sure you hike your prices because if you didn't you would be bust today
Deedee123x: Life is life it was and never will stay the same, either you adjust or you fall behind either or is fine if that's what you want. Too much technology throw out ur phone and laptop
The only thing I detest from this modern wod is a 23 year teacher who had it all looks brains community spirit talented musician...etc...can't go for a run in broad daylight in a well opened up and viewable area to the public, without being murdered. It's an 80 year old man who worked his whole life and enjoys his earned retirement gets broken into and attacked... Children can't have the childhood I did, carefree and happy... That's what bothers me.
Pretty much everything. Lates one: I deliver small pk and letters downtown. A new built office building has the latest "security": Before: of just go in and elevator to your floor, nod to the receptionist who see you looking decent-ish through the glass, then let you in... Now, yo have to walk up to a screen and there tap in all kinds of nonsensical info, incl your phonenumber for the machine to print out a "boarding card" for some gate.. and so on... it just sucks, besides I could enter all fake info and the machine would eventually open the gate anyway.
every day we wake up to a new rule,,,,,, most times it,s about a new tax it would,nt suprise me if they tax pe0ple who sleep longer then six hours.......
Constant bombardment by marketing companies trying to sell their product or service.
Whether it be electricity, or even credit a card machine, these pushy salespeople can’t take no for an answer , even if you tell them you are tied down to an existing contract.
This is a very thoughtful thread in my notice. The point of disadvantage for me is work rush. Everything now is a rush towards earning, towards success, and for extra hours. No matter how much you love your job but the companies are taking away the family time, self quality time, refreshing hours and break. In majority of cases we lack job satisfactory. I love what I specialize in but why do I have to spend long hours everyday for 6 days to make the company better? Also the lunch hour barely exists. Modern life is now equal to corporate life. Just the other day I was going through a site
mentioned that work pressure of modern lifestyle leads to mental illness and emotional hindrance. See!! Everything is a chain reaction. You are right about the ads and marketing. They are not providing a cure for our necessity. Instead their ad is all about deeming to create a necessity (which is pointless) and themselves giving a solution to it. And public also is always driven away. It's completely product-oriented and not customer-centric. The modern work places are the manufacturer of stress, discomfort and struggle that takes away mental peace.
