My late sister lived in Airdrie about 20 minutes from Glasgow for nearly 60 years as she married a Scot. I spent most of my childhood school holidays there and even my early adult life. The bus had to go through the "Shappe" way back then, before the Motorway was made. and so the Shappe was closed many times due to the weather conditions. Stopped at Penrith, then Carlisle and then Lockerbie before our destination in Glasgow. Always took the overnight bus which took hours, but that was back in the day, happy memories

Always loved this guy. My favourite comedienne of all time. Sir Billy Connolly he made jokes telling stories but most of them were actually true about his childhood and true to life. He had an awful upbringing but he made people laugh regarding his upbringing because no one knew. He worked in the dockyards in Glasgow. Many people can't understand his accent just the same as other people can't understand other peoples accent. Me! I can understand every word he says and I'm English

How many famous people in the audience but most of them are deceased or not in the lime lite now......
