To make an assumption, you must look at other countries who would otherwise be affected by the war.
The majority of Europe has nowhere near the inflation rate Britain has , not the food price increases

Coldheaven: It’s been on our news so much that the NHS is having trouble dealing with all the amount of people at a&e now in all our hospitals. People waiting 28 hours for a bed. I believe that’s because we are taking in too many extra people so our own people are suffering because of it.
https://www.channel4.com/news/factcheck/high-immigration-nhs-crisis

We have in the past taken many immigrants into our country who are actually working within the N.H.S.

This is the reason it is now under pressure. After 2 years of dealing with covid which it is now back again along with serious flu outbreaks it's reached breaking point .

Germany were solely reliant on Russian energy, but after pressure from NATO, they had to reluctantly seek fuel from elsewhere.

So have eggs & other home produced products.
Is the war to blame for these sudden increases?

Our news here a couple weeks ago said that there would be a shortage of eggs on the shelves but it hasn’t happened. The price of the eggs is still the same as is the availability in Tesco.

Which is exactly my point .
Eggs have gone up 30/40 % recently & have meats & potatoes .
I’m sure you potatoes & livestock can’t catch bird flu , which was the excuse used for the sudden increase in eggs .

Perhaps food and fuel should be expensive given the alternative is costing the Earth.

Maybe we need to learn to conserve and rocketing prices is our motivation.

I realise the poor are the hardest hit as they always are and that's not acceptable, but we do need to change how we do things.
