The first step to solving a problem is defining the problem.

To correctly solve problems we should understand the problems cause's. Whether or not the problems just exists from its own side as an "ultimate truth". Or does the problem arise interdependence upon other factors.
If we examine whether the problem arise from multiple causes (in interdependence) like in, does the problem appear to exist attached to a number complications?

If we don't pull a plants roots out most plants will regrow.

Plants exist in interdependence, they have many causes, example bees pollinated the mother farther tree (the bees had mother farther to) the mother farther tree produced the plants seed and soil, that includes worms, insects, organic matter, sun rain and so on gave rise to what appears as plant.
Our true nature is energy, moving energy and so its very very important to listen up pedrocomfort

I think pehaps rob was passing on his wisdom for anyone who care to take note rather than just for pedro. Either way it makes sense.
