You have obviously never been in the military.....if you had, you would never berate others that have volunteered to stand up and do whatever it takes to protect you and your way of life. I don't care if it's in Iraq or anywhere else in the world. My son has a college education and still volunteered to serve his country. Couldn't get a job? Couldn't get an education? You sir are the one that needs to learn something about respect. He, along with many men and women have stepped up and said, 'send me where you will'. Maybe they don't protect your freedoms by being in Iraq but if someone were to come to this country, he would step up to save your cowering life to give you the right to continue to spew your opinions. You talk like you do because you don't understand what it takes to sacrifice for others.

He never had a brain? I'm sure you don't call what's between your ears a brain....Much safer yes. They didn't have freedom either. Would you give up your freedom to be safe? Never had a brain.....you make me laugh.

With respect:

Not good enough my friend, your hopes will be dashed.

We are dealing with the situation as it is now, the stable door has been opened and the horse has bolted.

You propose advancing the cause of extremism.

With Sharia law imposed, you condemn its people to a political system which governs the social imperatives of the state. The consequences of which, are unthinkable for large sections of the fractured communities.

Let's look at it this way. Back during WWII, George Sr was shot out of the sky and almost ended up in some Japanese soldiers stew pot, but he was able to get away.

I quote Oslojente

"Actually, reading your post now, I just understood why you're in Iraq, and we're not... "

What a self-righteous Ameican bashing statement...you just proved yourself.

And for the record you have read my post and you know that I am 100% against this war and I am disgusted by Bush but you need to be righteous. I have just lost all respect for you.

Yes, I agree. But you and others condemn the leader for doing it so what does that say about you whom do it also?

We can only be accountable for ourselves. Reacting in a way that seems idiotic only makes ourselves look idiotic. That would have nothing to do with our leader would it?

I believe the original poster was talking about our president.....but what would it matter? Any leader by someone's definition that is being an idiot would really have nothing to do with us being an idiot would it?

to a certain degree it does.....regardless of how you voted 7 years ago, and how you felt about going into Iraq in the beginning, if you at this stage "still" believe that this war is right and and it is fought for a meaningful cause, then yes I am skeptikal of your (or whoseever) ability to choose and support a leader.

Have you thought about the effects of us pulling out today? With me thinking we need to stay to finish the job has nothing to do with the fact of whether I believe this war is right or wrong. We made a promise to the Iraqi people and the chaos that would be caused by us pulling out has nothing to do with whether this war is right or wrong. There is so much more to it than that. We need to think beyond our emotions. Do I feel the effect? I went to more than 15 KIA funerals last year. You darn right I feel the effect.

How I voted? I told a fellow employee I was ashamed of whom I voted for president. He asked me why I didn't vote for the other one. I said because I would feel more ashamed.

Of course there's a typo there, remove the word "son" following "Grandson".

Lest your English language be as accurate as your limited grasp of history.

heard sopmeone comment somethig similiair he stated proudly
" You can't blame me.. I knew they where all losers so I did not vote for none of them "

it pissed me off at first but in truth our selection od capable candidates for president is dwindling what used to bee a forest of good choices ahs dwindled down to a few spare acres of so-so candidates.

would it be that bad if we stated havigna n age limit on who can take office say if over 50 you do not qualify for the office... think of it, hell all politicains over 55 have to retire mandatory retire for politicians
al that old bad blood from one side of the house of congress to the other removed>>> no old axes to grind.

1. The effect of pulling out of Iraq today would blessedly be 25 years of world peace like after you got kicked out of Vietnam.

2. You need to finish what job? The job of more killing?

3. You didnt make any goddamn promise to the Iraqi people. You made no promise to no-one. You didnt figure! Nobody consulted you. Who do you think you are - 'We made a promise..blah blah'. If you inform yourself better (try Bob Woodward's Plan of Attack) you would know that a clique of people in your government decided right after the elections of 2000 to attack Iraq. One of Bush's first questions to Rumsfeld was 'what about the plan to go get Saddam'!

4. You seem to ashamed all around. Ashamed for voting one guy. Would've been more ashamed for voting another. Feel ashamed for supporting the destruction of an Iraqi life?? Or seven eight hundred thousand of them?
