Reasons I have personally said the same thing...
I went out with a woman who wanted me to book flights and a room for six months down the road.....I had known her for three days.
Being groped fifteen minutes after meeting.
Being asked to buy jewelry after dinner.
My kid driving fifteen over the limit.
A dozen phone calls in one day.
A friend pounding shots like he had a death wish.

I agree.
If a person has been hurt before, perhaps he or she doesn't want to rush into things right away. The sane thing to do is to take it slow and get to know each other. If you don't want to be seeing anyone else just ask him if you could be exclusive.
