Greg Bear, Isaac Asimov, Ann Rice, Robert E. Howard, H.P Lovecraft, Leonard Nimoy, And many more who have kept me company over the years. Magazines, poems, periodicals, news letter.... Anything that falls in my hands!
But why is it a predominantly female fan base for Dean Kootz and Stephen King. My Ex was big on thess authors as well.
Yes i have read some of each author but i am no fan and Don't rate them highly. One even gave me the Hebe Jebes that i refused to read it at night before i slept.
But i finished the book but it didn't endear me the author. But what is it about this type of storyline/Genre of reading that attracts females.
I hate reading! Im horrible at it. I think I have ADD or something(only joking, I think. ) I am very intelligent and excellent at math and logic, but I couldnt read abook to save my life! I start reading and by the time I get to the bottom of the page I realize that I didnt understand anything. I focus on the individual words as opposed to the storyline or ideas. I end up reading each page more than once. I think this happens more so when Im not really interested in the subject. *M*
Everyone has there own talents. Me, I'm terrible at math of any kind. And after trying to figure out how to spell terrible, I may just be bad at spelling too.
I love to read novels etc...but I dont have enough time to read because I have too many text books to read....one of my texts this term is over 1000 pages long
lol. very true. but what makes it weird also is that I have excellent grammar and spelling. I vocabulary is also above average, in my opinion. People who dont know me think I am an English Major. I am very particular about things and notice the smallest mistakes. This is why I chose computer programming as my major. I love it.
The problem is, though, that I am currently only working on my associates degree. I have MANY years of college ahead of me and it scares me because I know Im in for a lot of reading. Im not sure what to do about my inablility to concentrate while reading. *M*
That’s interesting. I think there is a high correlation similar to your situation. I also enjoy numbers. I’m glad that what I do deals with numbers, history and problem solving. Hence, I enjoy reading lots of book based on historical facts.
If I can recall, the last book I read not related to history was William Faulkner’s “Go Down Moses”. A fragmented novel of short stories. It was very challenging.
