It is meat and/or vegetables usually in a sauce made up of spices and herbs, served with rice and often naan bread, pompadoms, chapathi (which are breads either soft or brittle and crispy). Varying degrees of spice to make it mild, hot, very hot, extremely hot, blow yer head off, etc.
It was first established in the days of the Raj (British Empire) in India and was brough back here, adapted to our western tastes..... it is extremely popular in the UK.
