There was a commercial that used to come on when I was a child, I have posted this before but for ya'll that did not see it? the tv was black and white and the commercial come on with the camera panning in on a baby nursery in the hospital and it was showing all these babies, different colors different races and the caption at the top read, "here is the first time you won't mind who you lay beside" and then the tv flicked to a grave yard and the caption read "here's the last time you won't mind who you lay beside" it was saying who cares about it in the middle we already know the end!bouquet lips

It would be nice if there was no discrimination but I came up against it just last week when we took my granddaughter for her first haircut. The first hairdresser refused to do her hair as they do not do black people's hair, they told us to look in the phone book and find a place that does their kind of hair.

We went to the second hairdresser a few stores away that was in the mall and they had no problem cutting her hair to even it out. I do not know why the first place could not cut her hair too.conversing

Not sure I would class that as discrimination Kitty, maybe they were just worried about making a mess of your granddaughter's afro hair not having any experience of it.

A good hairdresser should be skilled in dealing with all kinds of hair, but there are specialists. Every city I've been to has hairdresser shops who promote themselves as Afro hair specialists......hang on, could that be called discrimination too? laugh
