A real man to ME.....
He is fairly confident (though not TOO confident, I don't do arrogant, and my raison d'etre is certainly not to stroke egos!). He MUST have a brain, no single-celled amoeba for me, thanks). He must be strong enough to make decisions, even tough ones, but bright enough to realise that "masculine" and "macho" don't necessarily equate, and doesn't translate "assertiveness" in a woman as "aggressive" .
He must have a softer, more sensitive side and not be afraid to show it. He would be a gentleman and, above all else, the key word here is.......... respect!

A real man listens.
He tries to help out my male friends.
He watches out for me & know I will be doing the same.
He knows I don't need frilly things but is still good at surprising me with goodies.
He makes me smile, especially when I really need it.
A real man is willing to be patient.
A real man can still be kind to strangers, even when they ask the dumbest questions.
He is not afraid of being affectionate, intimate, or adoring.
He is strong enough to be gentle, honest & trustworthy... even around his friends.

Now I know why I venture into these forums from time to time. Everyone here just restored my faith in humankindness. This was a topic at another site I belong to, and it became an all out verbal war on the definition of Real Men and Real Women. This obviously can be such a contraversial topic and here it was handled with kindness that shows how unique everyone is.
People are funny but life does have it's twists & turns. About the time you think you know what you want, life will show up and present just the opposite and it turns out alright. Just remember, opposites often attrack. Does that mean as much as I hate arrogance that I will end up being totally attracked to someone who is obnoxiously arrogant? I guess I will just have to see what life has in future plans for me.
