Is it a finger-buffet type of thing? If so and you don't want to go to too much trouble, you can get those packs of snack things that you just quickly bake in the oven...?? Would that suffice? Or is it more of a sit-down "Do"??

Well, there's things like:

Vol-u-vents (fill with prawns, chicken and mushroom, cheese and onion)
Sausage rolls
Prawn Sesame Toasts
Mini samosas
Spring rolls
Dips
Scotch eggs (not sure if you have them over there??)
Grissini (for the dips)
Pretzels
Popcorn

Or just get some of the flling mentioned above and wrap in filo pastry (into small parcels), bake for a few minutes.

Any good? cheers

OK Dan i will give you my ribbon winning recipe...

now that i have won all the local competitions with it and i have to come up with something new...

Go and get...
1 ten pack of Butterfinger bars.

1 twelve to 16 oz cool whip(or store brand)

1 eight oz cream cheese(even the store brand)

1 premade graham cracker pie shell ( i used to make them from scratch but this is easier)
or you can use the oreo cookie one if you prefer...

first crush the UNWRAPPED butterfingers into a large mixing bowl.

then add the cream cheese and mix those two up really good until you get a ball of cheese and b-f

then add the whip cream and stir it around it will break down the creamcheese and help mix the butterfinger....

piur the mixed ingredients into the pie shell (you can use the plastic cover for the pie shell as a lid by flipping it over and taking off the paper tag...)
Cove it and place it either in the refridgirator or freezer (i prefer freezer when i go somewhere it will be un refridgirated for a long period or planning on serving soon after made It never actually freezes so experiement.)

Ta Dah

and serve whenever you get good and well ready... everyone will beg for the recipe....

Find out what others are bringing first. Often pot luck dinners end up with too much of one dish.
