There has not been one death as a direct result of smoking pot to date. It has the same health risks as smoking nicotine. How many people a year die from alcohol related accidents???

o.k. compare the traffic fatalities from etoh and fron cannabis. Both are in the bloodstream when a auto death is committed. Any statistics on cannabis? We have plenty on ETOH

much in the way they are taxing all other consumable pleasures to feed and provide for many, I say "bring it"... tax all facets of it growers, (big and small), users and those that provide places for consumption...
no matter how it is decribed (less harmful /more harmful) I would rather have a new vice legalized and taxed to the max.
Then raise my property, income or fuel tax....Sorry but if theres such a thing as "acceptable body count". then those who by choice choose to partake of it are willing to pay for the right to use it, let it happen and soon.
I still remember my basics on "cannabis growing 101"
compliments of a High Times publication in the 70's

I'm not denying that alcohol is a factor in traffic fatalities.
Nor am I saying that pot causes more traffic fatalities than alcohol.
I wasn't comparing the two at all.
I'm just pointing out that to say pot has never caused anyone's death is a bit of a far stretch and is a bit insensitive to people who have lost a loved one due to a high driver.
I wasn't really even trying to justify or not justify either side of the argument. I was just wondering which presidential candidate had mentioned it. Legalization of marijuana hasn't really come up as an issue in several years and I'm curious why now, in the midst of every other issue, during the primaries, a candidate would bring it up.

That may and probably is true but i know id rather be on the road with a bunch of high ons insted of drunks. High ons drive 10 mph under the limit and concentrate. Drunks think its a nascar race. JMO
