tunnelwary: I live amoungst snobs.......so when I'm frustrated, sometimes I'll mess with them.

Start talking about monster trucks and Merle Haggard when I know that these people are just barely standing my very existence.

OMG that is the funniest thing I've read in at least a week!

I use to get frustrated until one day I sat down and tried to analyze exactly what it was that was causing this feeling and this is what I came up with.

I identified the problem as being a situation of HAVING to do something which CANNOT be done. This causes a feeling of being pulled in 2 totally opposite directions at the same time. A good example would be having a bad case of diarria when you have to appear in court. Once I realized this my life got a lot easier. I would simply go to the person who told me to do this thing and tell them it can't be done and if you think it CAN, then YOU do it or show me how to do it.

Another part of this is when you are given more tasks to do than the time allotted. Again I go to the person who gave me the assignments and say "ok, I can only handle 1 emergency at a time, so which emergency would you like me to shelve and which emergency should I do first." This puts it right back in their lap and THEY have to make the decision what to do first, second etc.

As far as anger is concerned, I learned a long time ago that anger = failure. If you're in a tense emotionally charged discussion and you get angry and start raising your voice, you just lost the argument. The same goes for violence. If you resort to pushing or hitting to get control of an argument you REALLY lost the argument. There is no better proof of a LOSER, than one who resorts to violence to win an argument.

Claayer: Breeeethe it away most of the time.. haha..

but if I ever get really reeeally frustrated or angry (with is pretty rare for me) then I tend to clean at 100MPH.. haha

Scrub the life out of the floor. (after I've paced around like a tiger in a cage for a while)

I agree with Claire..I clean..talk about a white tornado..super

dont usually get angry...most things that would make me feel anything in this direction are usually associated with disappointment....do to having expectations of the outcome of one thing or another...blues

the way i solved this problem is to have no expectations..but I can still get disappointed then its scrubba dub dub ...wave thumbs up teddybear

Great post!! applause

I also learned to work out if "the problem" causing the frustration can be solved NOW by ME ... if the answer is NO ... I let it ride ... there is no point in wasting energy over something I can do NOTHING about ...

Totally agree with you on the anger issue!! Although I have also learned "to give a piece of my mind" to the person who has caused to anger (if appropriate & in an appropriate way) rather than project it onto someone or something else ...
