I was once, I used to work in a dry cleaning plant, very hot, steamy & dirty conditions, but it was honest labor.

Anyway there was this woman who was always dirty, I mean dirty, you could see the dirt in the crease lines in her neck, under her nails & her arms. She also never brushed her teeth and had a very foul body & breath odor about her. Now this woman was not homeless, she lived in a 3 bdrm 2 bath home, ok?

Several of the employees brought this to the boss's attention but nothing was ever accomplished. So a co-worker & myself bought a bar of soap, a stick of deoderant, a toothbrush, toothpaste, & mouthwash, and put it on the front seat of her car in a plain brown paper bag. I guess when she found it she was insulted & she told the boss about it. Well the boss figured out it was me & my co-worker & fired us both.

Nope, never been employed.

Only once.. when I was 16 and worked for my MUM.. she sacked me.. haha

I used to call up all the time whining about how great the weather was and could I go to the beach instead.

Or my friends would call me at work and ask me to the beach or wherever.. then I would start bugging her to let me go.

In the end she got so pissed off with it she sacked me.

Haven't had that unfortunate incident to deal with except I have taken someone for support and supervision who did excessively eat while I was trying to reprimand them.I work for a voluntary organisation which is much more lax than private or public sector.......I laugh at it now, but then I was a new manager..and still going through all the grooming for it and didn't know how to handle it.....in the end I put her food on my side so she couldn't have it until I was finished...she started eating the moment I'd finished with jer and then about 3 months to go.....well her contract ran up.....

I was fired from a good job once.
And this is a sad story.

I was dirt poor and fresh out of college with a substantial student loan debt and a single mom caring for a 9 year old. I managed to acquire a job in my field at a very good rate of pay and great benefits for my kiddo too. But my car was barely holding together with bubblegum and duct tape.

I told the lady that hired me that I could not guarantee that my car could reliably get me to work, but as soon as I get my first paycheck in 1 month, I plan to get the car fixed up. I told her this at the interview before I had even gotten the job. She said she would see if maybe some co-workers lived near me and could carpool. She went ahead and hired me but never checked with the other workers.

My 2nd day on the job, my car died. I called in and talked to my boss and asked her about co-workers who could carpool. She said she'd check. She never called me back. I found someone willing to drive me to work for the rest of the week and found someone to further bubblegum my car so it ran.
The second week, it broke down again on my way there. I walked to a grocery and called my boss. She said "That's 2 no-shows for work. You're fired." and hung up the phone.

Such a shame. I was a hard worker and would have been a valuable employee if she could have just worked with me a few more weeks until I got that first paycheck to get a decent running car. I ended up getting a cleaning position nearby I could walk to, at about 1/4 of the wages.
2 months later, after I got a car, the position I had was STILL not filled, but I wasn't eligible for rehire because I had been fired.
Bunch of stupidity.

I got fired yesterday and got a new job within 5hrs

"Have you ever been fired from a job??" No, of course not......
