blue_eyed_blonde: or any other of your organs and be an organ donor???
I was just watching Oprah and part of the show was about organ donors...It showed the families of the donors as well as the recipents, it was so awesome to see the family of the donors as they met the person who their loved saved or helped. It just made me realize that I made the right decisions a few years back.
Imagine what a gift that would be to give of yourself to allow another to go on after your time has passed. The gift of a heart... I made that decision 3 years back to donate my organs when that time comes. Just a thought....
good girl trudy ..I've been an organ donor for the last ten years... if I can help someone when I'm gone that is the greatest thing anyone can do....

Recent controversy in Organ Transplantation Case in CA
A doctor (Hootan Roozrokh) in San Luis Obispo, California has been accused by prosecutors of prescribing excessive doses of morphine and sedatives to hasten the death of a disabled man with cerebral palsy and irreversible brain damage, in order to procure his organs for transplant. The case being brought against Dr. Hootan Roozrokh is the first time in US medical history a transplant doctor has ever been charged in this manner.
Why in the world would a doctor do such a thing? I guarantee you it was for the money. There's mucho dinero in organs and tissue, and I'm not talking about the black market.
They tell us the sad save a life stories, and then get rich from our donations. I think that is wrong.
It probably wouldn't bother me if I lived in a country with social medicine.
