....friends with benefits?

Would you judge somebody negatively if they had such a friend?

If both parties are happy with the arrangement, though one never truly knows, is it wrong to satisfy a need in this way?

You're joking right...Get real, most people, I think, would be rather envious, even if they won't admit it; for anyone being in that circumstance. Certain emotional "consequences" may develop and could prove problematic,; you never know. Just be open with each other...
No judgements from me; just a smile and Happy Trails! %D

New trend nowadays huh?

My friend dated this guy for 2 years, then he said he said he was not happy.Right after, he asked her out, they decided that friends with benefits was the right joice. They are together for 4 years now- 2 years of that friendship. He is always there, helps her with everything in the house and life...
He only reason i see men asking for this is because they wanna be naughty...having lots of women at the same time...it's just not healthy!

Ah,ok,I get, what my brother calls a f... buddy,no? No, I guess it,s not wrong if nobody gets hurt, why not? Where I have a problem is when somebody says " this is my friend". I mean, what,s happened here? People have friends who are just friends and people who are more than just friends. Quite often people do this,it seems, to keep their options open. My ex had " friends" who I discovered were more than just "friends".dunno

No, I wouldn't... Live and let live and all that...
As long as they're both happy about the "arrangement" I can't see why not..

Ahh I knew YOU and Smoky and Solitaire would understand.

Isn't it funny how you kinda know what is going to be said in response to a thread and by whom.

I've been here too long!!!!hmmm

Jan1305: I don't think I actually said that I have a friend with with benefits Cristina, I was asking for thoughts on the matter that's all.

I also don't agree that people who have these arrangements are people who are stressed at work and or aren't able to to have a "permanent partner".

You do have strange ideas!

and you certainly need to correct them...or politely pretend to make sure i get the right idea when my analysis are definitely just...strange! If you really don't know how to handle my strange ideas, give others some chance!

No I'm not correcting, you'd know if I was doing that because I would rewrite the whole of your post in red. I'm simply pointing out that I think you have misunderstood what I was saying....in a polite but not pretentious way of course, thanks for noticing.

Give it a rest Cristina, I have no battle with you so don't start a war. (Figure of speech).

I would never judge negatively someone like that Jan, meaning that i wouldnt think bad of him / her. Its a choice, and as you lay it down, i dont see something wrong with it.

However, if the term "judgment" includes any future prospects of me forming an intimate relationship with a girl that would get into something like that, then i must say that knowing that thing about her would adversly affect me in getting involved with her.

When you are relying on the WRITTEN word, then you actually need to pay attention to Translations of words - otherwise you gonna be misunderstood.

When a person posts a thread, and someone replies to it, who obviously has no idea on the thread matter - then to be corrected by the OP - do not feel bad and get vindictive about it - accept it.

"Your readers"? since when does anyone here have their own personal "readers"? And to answer your question, Yes, we do appreciate the OP`s clarrification to your replies, simply because your replies are way off mark and make no sense when applied to the question.

As you surely may have learned by this time .... when you dont understand a Thread, please move to another thread where you can make a valuable or amusing contribution, and ignore the authors who seem to irritate you. In this way, you leave the thread to be enjoyed by those who understand it.cheers hug teddybear

Conrad73: 'xactly my sentiment,as long as there are not several lurking around at the same time.
The reasons for an arrangement like that can be manyfold and is really no one else's Beeswax.

And how close an emotional attachment the Persons involved have,is for them to know and again of no concern to anyone else.
In other words practise a little bit of what the World has so little of today:"Live and Let Live"!!!
