Normally no I wouldn't date one a lot shorter, but around my height or slightly shorter, maybe.

I have dated a shorter man before, I found it hard to dance with him and when I thought about what if he wants a kiss at the end of the night I would have to bend my knees some maybe. I never went out with him again. sorry to say but is was only because he was shorter
This idea of what people find attractive is directly proportionate to the mental image set forth what they've experienced with their parents/guardians. If your father is much taller than your mother, you'll be more inclined to be attracted to women who are shorter vertically. I know this is true for me. My mother is 5'2", and my father was about 5'9". I am 5'11", and find myself more attracted to shorter women. I know it sounds superficial, and I have been a man who believes in spiritual and emotional substance over physical appearance. But, I will not deny the truth when it is what I feel.

I dont think we really have any control to what we find attractive in a potential partner..
Superficial is a word that would be out of context as far as i am concerned..

It's true! for me at least, and I know it to be so since the age of 12 .my first real crush/boyfriend, a red headed buck toothed, freckled faced kid, who could have been my dad's twin at the same age. to me my dad was a middle aged balding man 5'9" with light strawberry blond/gray hair, glasses and a mustache. worlds apart to a 12 year old ,my Aunt (dad's sister) pointed it out to me and pulled out pics to show me. What a way to find out about my Freudian tendencies. the guys I'm attracted to seen to be similar to my dad in some way about half the time. back to the topic, I have dated a short guy, we were the same hight 5'4" but he was a red head too.
I am short and don't mind dating a shorty...my tallest boyfriend was 6'4" and he was nothing like my dad
