The cliché dinner & a movie are the worst ever date ideas. How is one supposed to talk and get to know a person in a movie? What if you don't feel comfortable with the person, why sit through dinner or a movie with them?
Bookstores are a perfect place to talk, and explore interests. If things don't go so hot, it's easy to leave without disturbing others. If things go wonderfully...pick up a copy of the Karma Sutra.

Actually Dio, I think this is a GREAT idea, especially since my main interest and hobby is reading... and I would like to date someone that shares my passion for books and reading...
I like to meet in a cozy bar and have a drink or two and talk. This way I can see how he interact with others. It really depends on what you like to do. If you like movies, then go see one and out for coffee afterwards. If you like bands, then go see one. Go to the zoo or a park. The main thing is to get talking to see if it is something you want to build on.
