Hello,
Yesterday was judgment night in my district.
I know that is the district with very bad reputation but I live there all of my live (with little break).

When I back at night some people break glass in the window than somebody break glass in back window of the car. Something very big (I don't know what - chair?) was throwed into it.
In my house was open night shop. And maybe this night was start war between owner of this shop and occupant which leave near this shop.
Maybe owner want to frighten him? I don't know but it wasn't pleasent.
Have a nice day without problems

I used to feel safe here until I started typing the trauma reports for the hospital...that was when I found out about all the violence that goes on that is not reported to the public...I worry everytime my kids go out the door (and for good reason too, considering what happened to Aron the other day). But I do feel safer in my own home with my three dogs and my oldest son here (he is 6'4" and 200+ lbs, lol). hug

I feel really safe here but was recently out in the local town at night on my own - and didnt feel too safe at all - I was just passing through on my way home and decided to get a take away, there was a private party going on in a pub and loads of uninvited youths thought they could gatecrash - crowds of them had come from all over and were all drinking too - I was pretty glad to get out of there!!

That was a wake-up call that random acts of violence...can happen to you...even in a city that you could once go out in and have a good time without having to worry about it!!!!!!!!!!!

Its such a shame isnt it Hugs - I never used to think twice about being out alone at night and was probably a bit too fearless - way, way back, I even used to hitch on my own till I started listening to the warnings - Ive been very lucky I must say..........

I hope you were ok with the punks!

It is a shame...well besides my black-eye almost being swollen shut and a big lump on the side of my head from being kicked...while on the ground...I was ok....BUT yeah it was a real eye opener for me because there are very few things I am scared of....and even that I wasn't scared...shocked more like it.....so I just use more caution when gong out...and stay away from the place it happened at which apparently has this kind of violence all the time...which at the time I had no clue it was that bad cause that was my first time out in ages.....wave hug teddybear hug bouquet

What a traumatic story. I hate violence. How men could beat women? I don't understand.

Only crime I can accept is crime in Arsène Lupins style.

Well that's another story entirely...the police were there at the bar working extra duty as security that night....this happened in the parking lot...we hadn't even entered the bar because it was too late...so just called a cab that we waited an hour for....the bouncer was more help than the police when he saw what was happening....and the police before even talking to me...let the punks go..chalking it up to some bar fight...so they in fact left in the cab anyway that I had called....they asked me if I needed an ambulance...ummmmmmm good thing to ask someone that might be suffering head trauma...I said no of course because I just wanted to go home...I called the next day to have charges laid and make a complaint because the police let them go..as they probably could have been tracked down by the cab they took....UMMMMMMM I never even got a return phone call...after several phone calls and by now very andgry and upset....Luckily my dad who is an ex-chief of police had a friend on the same police force...who happens to look after complaints etc and is a detective....so ummmmmmmmm we're talking maybe 3 months before anything was done and basicly it was a slap on the wrist for the cops and no progress looking for the punks....So yeah the whole thing was traumatic....feeling re-victimized by the police made it 10 times worse!!!!!!!!!!!

"Do you feel safe in your neighbourhood?"

Hmmm... sorta. I mean, I suppose I could feel more safe....But, considering the circumstances, as well as having taken certain security measures - I feel safe enough.

Most times I do feel safe during the daylight hours, but I don't go walking out late at night (maybe in my immediate area) but there are certain areas of the city - no way. Things are always happening here and even when I lived in a smaller town there was violence.

So I think its a matter of being aware of your surrounding, making eye contact with people, and if you have the bad vibes" leave the area. By the time the police came, it would be too late - so its best not to put yourself in a bad situation in the first place in you can help it.
