Comics... Lost Art? (5)

I have recently returned to a childhood past-time of reading comics, and I am very pleased to see that they have grown to a point of maturity with the times. Of course much of this growth is due to an influx of writers and artists from your own side of the pond. There are comics for everyone now and I was wondering what kind of influence they have in Europe?
I am listing a small portion of the ones that have drawn me back and would appreciate any information oh how these were received overseas and if there are others we on the 'other side' have yet to hear of.

Bear in Mind this is a very small slice of what is out there, but it is more adult stuff as compared to simple super-hero crap (which has its place but not in literature).
