only the initial stages of the experiment have so far been carried out succesfully.....i.e. the capability of making the protons run around in a speed big enough to be able to conduct the 'big bang' in the so called 'test tube' or 'ring tube'.
The actual collision of these particles is still to occur.
Doomsday predictions are not based on any scientific proof, since this in effect is the first time the scienetific comunity is reaching in these areas.
If succesful however, it may revolutionise all scinetific knowledge. Scientics are hoping to be able to observe the results such as to understand better what makes that known as 'black mass' or even 'anti-matter'.
One interesting observation made by an eminent scietist was that considering all known scientific knowledge is based on the speed of light, new knowledge coming out of such an experiment may very well provide humanity with the capability of cracking 'speed relative to light' boundaries. Which will mean travelling beyond those limitations, making interstellar explorations a reality.
Albeit in a far off unknown future.....if humanity is still in existance that is.
