twinkles1994: I just need to vent about this. I know we've had similar threads, but oh well. Why is it that when some people message you they don't read your profile? Mine obviously states that I am taken.
I got a mail today that said they came across my profile and it was lovely and they want to get to know me better. No, what happend was the person saw my pic thought I was pretty and didn't take the time to read my profile.

I had one today from a 30 year old thought I was an angel!
I didn't realise a silhouette could look that good!
It says no scammers on my profile and he most
definitely was one!
They do not read the profiles, heck they don't

you're not a person to them, just a means to and end.

It just irks me. I just feel that if you are going to take the time to send a message, take the time to read the profile. That's why we have them!

Actually, maybe Twinkles should make little dolls with a likeness of the mailer, ask him to send some hair in an envelope...and then she can stick pins in it to get even........

Those types of messages could be the result of several things: one, they truly did not read your profile because scammers sending those e-mails never do; or two, this is a dating site and if you're taken, logic says you would not be on this site (although I do know many people do for 'friendship' sake but if you choose to do that, you shouldn't wonder why peole still e-mail you as this is a dating site afterall, not a social club like my space; or three, they really don't care and are just hitting on anyone. Your reply can be anything from a kind "thanks but I'm taken" to a more clear "why didn't you read my profile before e-mailing me?" to the abrupt "get new glasses, my profile says I'm taken!" The only thing I can suggest is a little patience should be afforded, after all, if you don't want people to get to know you better, you shouldn't be on a dating site, taken or not.

Don't take it personally, and don't be so flattered. Most if em are just scanning to see who's online and sending out email en masse. They aren't taking the time to read or look, they're just sending out feelers hoping someone will but dumb enough for them to scam.
