lusciousmile: This coming from a person who let her beg that long. Thanks for the laugh.

You don't know if i'm single or not. It's not a tragedy to be single for everyone, by the way.

I never got a kik from that, nor did I like it

kidatheart: I've crossed at that border before and didn't have any troubles. Then I took the wrong off ramp after the bridge in Detroit and ended up in a pretty tough neighbourhood.

I just thought..
SOME people.. have no sense of humour .. miserable gits.. Howdy FM

Some do, but I get the feeling most don't like my particular brand of humour.roll eyes

I helped a friend of mine move back from Philly about ten years ago and we drove with a U Haul trailer in tow. Ian didn't smoke or drink coffee so he whined the whole way about me wanting to stop every now and then, which was getting on my nerves after two days.
We crossed south of Winnipeg into Canada and they pulled us over to have a look at what we had in the car and trailer. It was packed very tight and took us two days to get it all crammed in.
I looked at the customs agent and asked him "what does it take to bring a sack of handguns into Canada?"
Well he freaked!!! Ian almost burst into tears!rolling on the floor laughing
A million questions later and a better look at the load, but they didn't take it all out of the trailer and they let us proceed.
Ian was veeerry quiet the rest of the way to Edmonton.laugh

Thankfully, the US is not represented ONLY by its immigration officers (wherever they may sit - at the embassies, at the borders etc). But, yes, this topic does make my blood boil (believe me, I know what I'm talking about, whereas US citizens that have never left their state may have no idea), and it's the reason why I am not interested in any 'serious' relationships with residents of the USA any longer. dunno (not that it's a big loss to them rolling on the floor laughing )

kidatheart: Customs agents do whatever they feel like doing from one day to the next. I've been in the US 4 times this year and the last time I was detained at the border for no reason, and nothing was explained to me, so I turned around and drove back into Canada.

All it takes is some a**hole that is having a bad day and you're screwed.
Yeah so true , in Canada in May-June and the customs lady didn't even bother to stamp my passport , I asked for it to be stamped on returning home ............ guess what ? They couldn't do (or seemed to me , didn't want to ) because they said it would allow me 6 more months in the country ! Haha I was flying home that day!! I had just been for a holiday and wanted , like every other traveler , my passport to reflect that I had been to Canada , it seems at Hamilton airport they do not stamp passports , I was told they don't have toconfused , but in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia airports they do stamp them. I was angry , and I may not be allowed back as I told the guy at the customs office in that airport exactly what I thought !!
With attitudes like that illegals have free reign , it seems to me !
Hey I am still cross about it now!!!
