From the beginning of my life
I have been looking for your face
but today I have seen it

Today I have seen
the charm, the beauty,
the unfathomable grace
of the face
that I was looking for

Today I have found you
and those who laughed
and scorned me yesterday
are sorry that they were not looking
as I did

I am bewildered by the magnificence
of your beauty
and wish to see you
with a hundred eyes

My heart has burned with passion
and has searched forever
for this wondrous beauty
that I now behold

I am ashamed
to call this love human
and afraid of God
to call it divine

Your fragrant breath
like the morning breeze
has come to the stillness of the garden
You have breathed new life into me
I have become your sunshine
and also your shadow

My soul is screaming in ecstasy
Every fiber of my being
is in love with you

Your effulgence
has lit a fire in my heart
for me
the earth and sky

My arrow of love
has arrived at the target
I am in the house of mercy
and my heart
is a place of prayer

~Rumi~

Oh all I needed was one look -
One magic moment was all it took!
From that moment, I loved you so -
Now that I've found you, I'm never gonna' let you go!

You're more than welcome to tag along and I'd be glad to have the company - we both might learn a few things - but it'd be far easier to buy a couple of his (Don Williams) CD's. I've been a fan of his since I was a kid. Here's part of another one:

In the shelter of your eyes
I have fin'ly found my song.
'Took so long to realize
I just can't make it on my own.

Words are only what they say,
But this feeling isn't wrong.
I'm so glad I found my way;
It's good to be where I belong...

And I'm gonna' stay right here 'cause I'm
In rythm with your mind.
'Tune out the world and rest my head
'Neath the shelter of your eyes...

Don there is such a serene solitude in a canoe it is pure magic. I have been an avid canoeist for many years myself and know with a certainty that I would learn oh so much sitting in absolute silence, fishing for trout of course, with you.
I am starting to wonder now after reading many of your posts if your own last name isn't Williams...? If it is I would be more than happy to go out and buy double copies of your albums to help you with the frolicking with your Love. You deserve what you have found more than many I have met in my life and I am just shy of envious, in a good way of course.handshake

Sorry Mark, but my last name is McCrary. And while I've done some writing and had a few things published, Don Williams is one of my favorite C&W singers who was quite popular back in the 80's. (They called him the "Gentle Giant.") He's got a voice like spun honey and - while he wrote quite a few of his own songs and recorded many others - he reached a point early on where he refused to record "cheatin' songs" or those that portrayed others in a negative way.

He found inspiration in his music and his songs have long been an inspiration to me;

I know how it feels
When you try and try again
And then you never win -
I know how it feels.

Ah, but this around I've finally found
What it's all about -
They write songs about
The way that I feel.

I've got a winner in you
No way I can lose
A love I can hold on to,
I've got a winner in you!

~Don Williams~ (excerpt from "I've Got a Winner in You")
