Dusty45: Your writings are worthy of being published, Galactic. They are written intelligently, are interesting, and with insight. Thanks for sharing them with all of us.

Thank you Dusty. But I understand if it's not everybody's thing. I just don't like being mocked about it...it's not very nice at all, especially when I don't think I've really done anything to deserve such a personal attack...dunno cool

jlw45: as long as people give me that same respect you speak of...i give it back...there has been alot of christian bashing on here...but, heaven forbid someone say something about the ''peaceful'' religion of islam

I'm talking about mutual respect...and yes there has been...it doesn't mean we have to carry it on...and I don't call respect...thinking all Muslims are murderers because of one passage in the Koran...like I said earlier...I can pick out one passage of the bible that promotes killing with god's permission but it doesn't mean that passage would be the sole basis of Christianity or that is what all Christians believe..I have enough sense to know that....nor does it mean that one passage is representative of the whole bible....

Galactic_bodhi: In that we are even, my dear sir.

Just don't attack my poetry unless you have something constructive to say. It may not be your bag, and I can appreciate that, its not everybody's cup of coffee, but its my chosen passion. It's a low blow, and I don't appreciate it.
actually, your poetry's pretty good....but, i have'nt appreciated some low blows myself, in the past either...maybe it all came to head....but, if i ever have anything constructive ,concerning you poetry, i'll let you knowhandshake

Well, I've never intentionally attacked your personal character sir. If you feel you have been "personally", rather than categorically flamed, then I apologize. But I don't apologize for categorical offenses you feel you may have been included on. If the shoe fits, I'm sorry, but you will have to wear it in a collective sense. You have done the same with your categorization of liberals...

you may be confusing me with wix...i never said i read ONE passage from the koran....there are many passages from the koran and the ,highly respected, teachers of the koran do not share your views of tollerance....and the OP had nothing to do with the minority of muslim's that don't follow those teachings...it is talking about obama's connection to some shady charactors, to say the least....

Well, I don't agree on one thing, that all Republicans are necessarily right-wing religious freaks, or that all liberals are atheistic communists. I'm very fiscally conservative myself, having owned my own business in the past. I just don't believe that, as American's we should have any one majority telling other people what their morality should be based on. That is what "checks and balances" are all about, to prevent the Platonic concept of "Tyranny Of the Majority". And on this same line of thought, this is why I myself have reservations about Obama. I don't want radical left unchecked any more than I do radical right.

I have no reservations about McCain though. And even less so since Palin came on board. This is a desperate appeal by the Republican party who doesn't even know what it's core represents anymore, either fiscally, or philosophically. I'd be really ashamed to call myself a partisan of either party right now, but I lost faith in the republicans after Reagan failed to realize true Smithian economics. The democrats have their faults too, but you can't knock them for at least appearing to be on the publics side.

When I get a tax incentive and bailout assurance as a small business equal to the amount that big corps just did, then I will believe in Republicanism. And not until...

well, that bail out was'nt just a republican deal...yes bush came up with it but, he had to have democrat insight for it to pass through the house and the senate....to be honest, i dont trust bush....and as a whole...i dont trust our government at all no matter what side....so, i geuss you and i can agree on that issue anyway

Our government is largely not even American in its interests anymore. Everyone in foreign lands keep harping on how much this election affects them. You're darn right it does. They stand to lose money if America wins back its own self-interest again...I admit, I'm anti-corporate, because being pro-corporate is truly "anti" American anymore...The wealth of nations is built on the innovation of small business. When patent is strangled by the ownership of virtually eternal entities, that have no national loyalty, innovation is strangled, and we all suffer Malthus' nightmare...

Never said we were. I just don't like religious strawman arguments to what are ultimately socioeconomic issues...my motto has always been, disregard moral rhetoric, and follow the money...thumbs up

I explained my reasons for not trusting him. But my distrust for McCain goes clear back to the '70's. Better the devil you don't know, then the devil you do.

Still he might have had me, but for two things, Bidenhistime, and Palincomparison...lol...just joshing...lol
