ttom500: I just complete my letter of resignation as Florida election clerk. The DEM party is sending 8000 attorney to poll watch and the REP party is sending several 100.
They cannot even pass laws to control the activities of organization like ACORN in voter fraud and bank scamming. Yet would send a host of attorneys to watch the FLorida electroral process.
I have training session this Sat....intend to circulate the resignation and reason among my fellow workers in this county. Asking them to resign as well.
This is going to both Canidates and thier parties. To media. If media begin to run with it, I hope poll workers around the country may begin to resign over the ACORN issue. Because it is massive voter fraud that the political parties or government have not been able to stop.
Yet they want poll workers and princit clerks to have a registration process that keep illegals from voting. Will send attroenys to monitor the process, which can mean criminal felony charges to a poll workers that allow illegal person to vote.
So for the first Presidential election in 24 years, I will only vote. And not participate in this as a official.
Wow! Do what you believe in ttom I say this with respect.
WhatUwish4: That's correct. They are registering AND voting on the same day, and many of these people are coming from homeless shelters so they cannot verify addresses so they can use more than one! Then there are the prison sweeps where they are signing inmates up with absentee ballots.
I always get concerned when I see an ACORN vehicle in a graveyard.
I cant believe that America, who have achieved so much on the world stage (positively or negatively, as you like it) cant get a little thing like voting methods right and not just this time time round but time afer time.
Im back to that bizarre thing I said/read a few weeks ago which suggested that with the financial fiasco and now a votes fiasco, that Bush may just get to extend his time in office by implementing emergency measures - the markets are falling drastically here again today and the interbank lending rate is still prohibitively high - lets see what the next 24 hrs bring.......... I still do think its bizarre by the way

All you have to do is consider what is right for the Americans casting honest votes might not be expedient for dishonest politicians who are actually running the show Trish.
You have to have honesty in the government to oversee the laws regulating the votes.

I know Sky, that s exactly what Im getting at - Its the same here too, Im not essentially having a dig at America, Im also having a dig at the British both here and over on the UK forum - it seems to me that the words 'politician' and 'honesty' just dont go hand in hand
shipoker58: But when a person shows up to vote...an ID must be presented. That(Acorn) may be successful in registering new voters, but won't help on election day!
Why did Obama put up with Ayers? Because he got a big job and $50 million of patronage to distribute to his friends and supporters in Chicago. Why did he hang out with Wright? Because he was new in town, having grown up in Hawaii and Indonesia and having been educated at Columbia and Harvard, and needed all the local introductions he could get to jumpstart his political career. Why was he so close to Rezko? Because he funded Obama's campaigns and helped him buy a house for $300,000 less than he otherwise would have had to pay.
Not a good recommendation for a president.
Again we have innuendo and lies that combines a good deal of supposition and some elaborate conspiracy theory to question exactly where Senator Barack Obama obtained the money for his education and the purchase of a house in Chicago in 2005. The answers are fairly straightforward.
As both Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, have noted many times, they paid for their educations via scholarships and student loans, in the process (like many people) incurring debts which were not fully paid off until many years later. (In the Obamas' case, it was largely the revenue derived from Barack's pair of best-selling books that finally allowed them to retire their student loan debts.)
Likewise, the Obamas' financing of their house in Chicago was no mystery. As their tax returns demonstrate, the couple experienced a significant jump in income from 2000 onwards (largely from royalties on book sales), and they purchased their Chicago home in 2005, a year in which their combined income was $1.6 million: The Obamas' best financial year came in 2005, when their total combined income was $1.6 million. That included $1.2 million in author fees for Obama's best-selling books. Michelle Obama's salary that year was $316,962 plus another $45,000 from TreeHouse Foods. (The copies of the Obamas' federal tax returns made available on the Obama campaign web site show that the couple had an adjusted gross income of $1,655,106 in 2005 and $983,826 in 2006.)
It is true that Rita Rezko bought an undeveloped lot adjacent to the Obamas' home (the lot had also belonged to the house's previous owner) and the Rezkos subsequently sold the Obamas a small portion of that lot: In June 2005, Obama and Rezko purchased adjoining parcels in Kenwood. The state's junior senator paid $1.65 million for a Georgian revival mansion, while Rezko paid $625,000 for the adjacent, undeveloped lot. Both closed on their properties on the same day.
In January , aiming to increase the size of his sideyard, Obama paid Rezko $104,500 for a strip of his land.

It is mis information like yours that is causing the problems here.
Not true Tom...This one was published in 1996....Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance, by Barack Obama, published August 1996
