Well, at least the markets are up today...inter-banking was long overdue. I'm talking about the G7's bailout plan which does include the American bailout plan. In either case, things are leaner and it will still take time to recover and build up another bubble that will burst again. The Dow being under 10,000 is amazing. I remember that magical 10,000 line was broken for the first time back in 99. How long do you guys think before it goes back up over 10 thousand again?
I'm ready to bail out!!! Let the idiots in government and banks and whatever, fend for themselves. They got themselves into this mess, let them get themselves out of it.

That is pretty much the way I feel too. No one is offering to bail me out if I make a bad business decision - and I don't expect them to either.

wixomwizard: Going to??? Sweety , we are already in it and have been for some time. The realization of it is what is just now kicking in.
It will get much much much much WORSE!!!
Very very very very soon!!!
January, I would suspect, and the "goodhearted" man that Bush is, having so much compassion for our Nation, just can not bear to allow another to take office with the state of things. He will remain in power.

I knew this when I got laid off in 1998. They have taken their sweet time about recognizing it. I'm so NOT impressed with any of the bailout. We'd go to jail for it, they get paid for it.

Sparky55: Maybe it's just me but it makes no sense to spend $700B on a bailout plan when you're not sure if it will work. It would have made more sense to formulate a solution within the economic community and then go to congress for the money rather than leaving this up to congress or the President. I think our politicians have already made enough errors with our money for us to not have learned something.
Well Sparky, I see it like this...
The majority of the American Taxpayers said a great big "NO" to the bailout. Our representatives are supposed to represent us, not what they are tricked into!! They voted against what the people asked them to!!!!
The money and funding belong to the American Taxpayers who said they did not want to bailout. Now, they will have to pay... So much for DEMOCRACY in this REPUBLIC.
More like a Dictatorship in a Communist country if you ask me!!!
HealthyLiving: What's worse, is they get paid by US for it!!!
True, that BITES. I need that money more than they do, but so do we all, for that matter. The sad thing is Ithink most of us would do a much better job than they. We for the most part, I think at least make every attempt to uphold the trust others put in us. . . But oh , yeah I forgot who are we? Just the little ant to be stepped on, so who cares what we think.

I agree. I thought they were supposed to represent us too. Sounds like we need to fire their butts.
oh well then, to be serious for a moment. if the bail out hadn't gone ahead and the money markets had remained frozen it wouldn't have been the washington fat cats who'd have suffered. it would have been the average joe. it certainly wasn't the best of plans but it was needed because the government could not sit back and allow the average citizens wages to go unpaid, for their mortgage to fall apart or indeed their workplace to close down. on a related subject, one thing that isn't mentioned much yet but soon will be is that china has just become a world super power and god help the u.s if it decides to stop buying her dollars because if that happens the depression of the 30s will seem like a holiday in the sun.

Don't think She had anything to do with that particular alternative lifestyle, except to rescure those whom were loosing their souls in the matter.
