Hugz_n_Kissez: I also had the same thing in my response...and no it is not my right to place others at risk from my actions...my own life is a different story though...it is my right to make choices that only effect my own life...
BnaturAl: I'm not an atheist ... ...so you're wrong and or misinterpreting my words ... my belief is that mayhem and murder for control is intolerable, I dont care what 'belief' one uses to justify it. There is right and wrong in this world.
Yes, there is...it's wrong to murder someone, for example.
However, when it comes to spiritual beliefs, there is no right or wrong, only right or wrong for the individual.
BnaturAl: ok............................................ so,I'm not an Athiest then!
Fine. I've seen you in many threads, and you have come across that way to me, but only you know your true beliefs. Agnostic is one who doubts...does that fit better?
Whatever your beliefs are, or questions, they're yours, and they're fine. I have found my answers, and I only state them as mine. I don't try to convince anyone else that they are right, or that anyone else should share them. (And I'm not saying that you do, either.)
"Believe in God and Jesus but don't believe in religion? What are we?" --- Guess what...It ultimately boils down to what you experience for yourSelf. Asking this question will only get you unlimited variations from all types of ?people. There will never be an answer that suits 'them' in this world.
I am all of 'them'. I am the 'other'. That's pretty much the Truth. God is. Jesus was a Master. Buddha was a Master. Many have been enlightened Masters. If you are 'spiritual', then the Holy Spirit is the one to ask this question. Ask a person and you'll never get a viable answer. This is an idea in my mind. I'm comfortable with it. No debate.

nope I am not agnostic either. I am, if there must be a label closer to, say a realist, working with proveable information to draw conclusions.
I am actually, as a matter of label, closer to Tony's arena. I am just unwilling to take that quantum ride on the starship enterprise just yet

Actually, Tony's views and mine seem pretty close...it's why we get along so well and kibbutz on here occasionally. Keep studying...you'll join us.

BnaturAl: my joy stick was taken away from me I won't even get on roller coasters. Men make those things you know
Hey well I can't blame ya there...me neither...but that's because I am missing the height gene that all the Native Iron Workers were born with....me I'm just plain chicken when ya get me 10 feet off the ground...
Another day, Al...but we've had threads regarding the possible origins of the human race before. It's totally possible that we originated from another race in the universe...as a genetic experiment or a last-ditch effort to save their race from extinction.
Another day. Dinner's getting cold, and I've been on here for a long time. Time to take a break for a bit.

BnaturAl: Belief is synonymous with faith, so I'd have to agree, relatively little else is required aside from what your mind or thoughts cling to.
You could believe you were ruler of the universe, but most beliefs; because they generally involve "trust" in thing or person or circumstance, require some reality feedback (even if that reality is unreal ie santa was real when we were young; but rutst in our parents made that universe real)
Main Entry: be·lief Pronunciation: ?-'lef Function: noun Etymology: Middle English beleave, probably alteration of Old English geleafa, from ge-, associative prefix + leafa; akin to Old English ly¯fan — more at believe Date: 12th century 1: a state or habit of mind in which trust or confidence is placed in some person or thing 2: something believed ; especially : a tenet or body of tenets held by a group 3: conviction of the truth of some statement or the reality of some being or phenomenon especially when based on examination of evidence
If belief is identical to faith, why bother to have two words? I think it incontrovertible that they represent two different concepts - I can believe in something that is powerfully or even irresistibly warranted by evidence, whereas I can have faith in something that has no more evidential force than that I find it appealing. For example, I believe the earth is spherical - no faith required - but may also believe that my life is governed by green octopuses on Mars (which requires faith).

Well, what one may rightfully do or believe has absolutely nothing at all to do with the truth or reality of one's belief. I'd say that we all have the right to believe in whatever nonsense we wish to believe in. The nonrightfulness comes in when we ACT on our beliefs and they harm others.

druidess6308: You are part of the Universe, and your thoughts control what happens in your life because of the messages they send to the Universe, so in a way you do run the Universe.
Yes, I believe it's impossible to have religious beliefs that are objectively untrue. It's what resonates as true within each person...that's subjective.
You mean it is literally impossible to believe in something that is factually false if one merely calls one's belief religious?? Seriously, D?
Well, my religion literally states that I personally control the workings of the *entire* universe - including your and every person's lives. Still think that is objectively true?
