Galactic_bodhi: Mohandas Gandhi advocated a form of revolution of passive resistance known as Satyagraha. I challenge people to use this principle against their own worst tendencies in their life. The tendency to distrust is common in this scam-filled electronic world, but ultimately is attributible, again, to our own worst tendencies. Ultimatly we have to take responsibility for our distrust and understand that it is universal. Everybody in the world is afraid. Courage doesn't mean not being afraid, it means being afraid and acting anyway. It is no different in love. But first you must have a revolution, and love yourself.
Be afraid. But risk everything. Don't be the coward that dies a thousand deaths. Live once, and live happy. There will only ever be one of you.

This is what I've done all of my life, GB...or at least, most of it. I can't speak for my very early years, but from about the age of 7 on I have lived life this way. Yes, I'm always afraid to trust and love, I've been hurt a lot on many levels by many people...and yet, I just can't live life without loving and trusting, for to me that's not living. So, I risk everything and do it again. The coward in me has died a thousand deaths...the warrior has moved on to live each time.
I have friends I wish I could teach to do this. It makes me sad to see others not be able to love and trust again because they're too afraid of being hurt...to me, that's just not living life fully.

Courage, love of oneself, and a strong will to live life fully regardless of what's happened in the past, because tomorrow is a new day...so, optimism, too, I guess. I have that in spades.

Life is an opportunity to get to know ourselves better. We fear nothing that is not projected from within us. All our fears are made manifest just as our hopes are. If our fears outweigh our hopes, they win. Learn hope, and propogate it, and the world starts to change all around you.

I do it on every level...I was stabbed in the back and used at a young age by "friends", too...it was hard to trust again. But, if I didn't, I'd be a very lonely, bitter person. I refuse to be lonely and bitter...it's just not who I am, and I won't let life make me that way.

I often used “passive resistance” and “satyagraha” as synonymous terms: but as the doctrine of satyagraha developed, the expression “passive resistance” ceases even to be synonymous, as passive resistance has admitted of violence as in the case of suffragettes and has been universally acknowledged to be a weapon of the weak.
