I think whether you write a short hello or a long message it doesn't matter. If it comes from the right person it should start the process to find you your soul mate. For the ladies: If your dream guy wrote you and just said "Hi" would you not respond. For the guys: If the hot chick of your dreams wrote and just said "Write" would you?

If you have conditions on what the other person shoud do you might miss out of someone special in your life.

To me it is courtesy to at least send a short note back if not interested.I know on another siteI get alot of mail, big deal allI get is tell me bout you or hi there. Why not at least write a few lines like what yor on forum for,or ask if she thinks maybe the 2 of you cangive coresponding a try.I like long letters an write them when getting to know smeone new. However I won't do that in a first letter when there may b no reply. So I think an inbetween is good. as I stated above.

Some people might be surprised to know i can actually be quiet without tearing into someone who would have trouble holding a door open without help.

I was brought up correctly, not dragged up behind a hedge....so in private i am normally "nice".

I thank people for emails, i have even helped people with all manner of problems on the quiet, from pain advice, to therapy, to councelling, and even dating help.

Yep i am the master of all trades, for other people.blushing

RobbieM: I go to page 3, then went to the end because i could guess what the middle was like Did i mention i like to be distracted easily.

Oh, and women with small warm hands are best of all

Which reminds me i need three small women for Christmas who don't mind visiting as i am home alone, bored, just made redundant and its cold.

Ok.

You know that tin of Thai soup?

Look on the small print and you will find their website.

Failing that come back to me and i will find you a couple or four.

If my dream guy wrote me and just said "hi" as you said.....then how would I know he was my dream guy?
My dream would not just say hi. I will not find my soul mate in a guy too lazy to put some thought in his messages. No excuses from men will make those short "say nothing" messages a good thing.
