For some people weight is an issue...especially if you place high importance in the health and well being of your body...and i don't mean in a "shallow" way..we are all attracted and equally not attracted to all kinds of different things and people and personalities...so...

If you met someone on here and you really hit it off..and then met them in person and you still hit it off really well...with the exception that the person was "heavy"..would you be able to overlook that and still continue having a relationship because you are compatible in every other way? And what would it take for you to overlook that particular aspect of the person?

I surecould and all it takes is a wonderful personality. I have a friend I go out with once per week and she has a few extra pounds and I don't even notice it because she and I are good friends.

Yes, the older I get the more I realize nobody’s
Perfect, a few pounds over, lines etc. even
The so called “beautiful people” of the world
Or should I say the fake ones with all the plastic
Surgery and makeup are just people.
And lets face it none of us are a work of art…
A perfect 10 can drop to a -10 as soon as they
Open there mouth…

I work on the basis, that I actually dont care if people cant see past my quite a "few extra" - Their loss. But then generally when you meet me, the pounds arent the thing that stays in your mind.

However, there are people that are not attracted to the "chunkier" people, and thats fine.

We all find a certain body type attractive, and would like to find a person with an awesome personality to go with it. But in reality the stunning personality is normally in the person of a body that isnt on our our list.

I think this is why dating sites are crap in one way. It is like shopping on eBay.

You look at the grainy photo, taken a while ago, and then there is some blurb about the person (normally the same sort of stuff) and thats it! How fair's that?

If I put up a photo of me while I was working in the city with a suit and tie on, I would look like Carlos the Jackal. Jeez, even I think I look scary!

But for some people it takes a lot to overlook "heavy" Particularly the younger members of our society, where "looking good = being thin".

All I can say is - "You dont know what you are missing!"

I would. Lets admit it, most of us that are not 20yrs old anymore do not have the perfect bodies anymore, and a lot of younger people not days do not either.

Besides I like meat on my man.

I would be able to do this ... and I have in the past.

Although there is a big difference between "a few extra pounds" and someone being "obese". I personally am not attracted to people that are obese .... it doesn't mean that they are not nice people etc. but I feel no physical attraction at that point.

I am not thin and admittedly my body is not perfect and that at different times in my life my weight has fluctuated ..... would this person be willing to ask me honestly if I was interested in being more healthy and changing and strengthening my body for me to be happier? Would they be there to support me through this process? If so then I would be happy to change because this would be something that I wanted for myself and sometimes it just takes the encouragement of another to get us motivated.

If the answer was no ... eg. I don't want to change (being obese) then I would have a hard time continuing to be with that person because I think taking care of your body is important to maintain your health. I want to be able to enjoy activities together .... this person probably is very unmotivated to participate because of lack of energy etc. I'd be worried about them having a heartattack all the time.

yes, and I have done that. as long as they aren't mooing terribly, I have no problem with those few extra pounds on a man. As long as he's sweet, honest and to me cute....
