I for myself am trying to spell properly and find it ever so annoying to see those utterly wrong spelled words some of you guys let fly here....(Wally, that does not include you, buddy - you are the coolest dude around here because you are doing great dealing with your handicap !!! I truly admire you cheering )

But I just cannot fathom that there should be more than 90% on CS who are dislexic ...dunno

Remember also, English is my second language after German... yeah, I know, some words are spelled British and others are spelled American, but the whole point is: I am trying hard and just find I owe it to others to be using their language in a proper way

So, now y'all (!!!grin ) can rip into me !!!

I am waiting, come on, your best shot first

There is no such thing as "dislexic" misspelled by the way. "Dyslexia" is a blanket term for a variety of reading disorders. People with poor spelling do not have learning disabilities but rather poor visual memory. My father is both a mechanical engineer and a trial attorney and he cannot spell. He consistently scored throughout his school career in the top 1% on all standardized tests. Spelling has nothing to do with intelligence or education.

I think the message is more important than the spelling or even proper grammar. There are many types of intelligence, about 14 or 15 types and many people have issues with spelling. JMO

I am starting my 4th degree this year (B and Masters in Chemical Engineering, MBA and now PhD in business leadership). English is my 3rd language and my spelling is not up to par. I agree spelling has nothing to do with intelligence or education. I will continue to make my contribution in the forums with spelling errors probably. If my spelling is offending anyone then hard luck.

Who's attacking you? Since you obviously have no clue what you're talking about (i.e. learning disabilities) I added that intelligence plays no part in spelling ability as way to further educated you. Why so defensive?

With Mississippi being the 50th state out of 50 in education, I am lucky I can even put together a message that anybody wants to read. So now I have to be able to spell it properly also? I hope there is a woman out here that accepts a dumb southern redneck that is kind of cute, witty and charming. Did I forget to say humble?

Your spelling is far better than most of the stuff I am reading here and elsewhere, including the stuff at work, be it medical, technical or legal documents which I am translating from English into German.... If this is your third language, buddy, I sure admire you sincerely.wine

South Africa is 1 of the fortunate countries that has 11 official languages, no ways that I will ever master them all.
